Dorn Leaving Party Constantly (Due to high reputation)

I'll be posting a few bugs that I've found in separate conversations, I'm hoping that'll help sorting them out.

Anyway, this bug is fairly annoying. Dorn constantly, and I do mean CONSTANTLY, asks me if I want him to leave the party. This isn't a conscious act by reforming the party, nor through dialogue, this just happens on its own. Dorn leave the party and then comes and asks me if I want him to leave. Crazy stuff, especially when during a fight he just stops and comes to talk to me...

    When the party reaches 19 reputation or higher, as an evilly-aligned character Dorn will periodically leave the party and proceed to talk to the protagonist. However, he has no specific dialog and will just use the same lines he says when you boot him out of your party. This opens an exploit: you can just tell Dorn that it was a mistake that you kicked him out and he should come with you, after which he re-joins your party.

    Observed behavior: when Dorn leaves due to high reputation, he talks to you and uses his "kicked-out" dialog.

    Expected behavior: when Dorn leaves due to high reputation, he should talk to you and either leave forever, or only join back with you once you have lowered your reputation.

    I noticed the same issue with Neera and a low reputation.

    Current Behaviour: Upon hitting Popular (16?) reputation Dorn will leave the party as if removed through party reform, asking the Protagonist if s/he wishes him to leave.

    Expected Behaviour (?) : Upon hitting popular reputation Dorn should leave the party

    Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but couldn't find it mentioned using either google or the search.

    Current behavior:
    When handing in the quest for A boy in the lighthouse to Ardrouine, Dorn immediately leaves the party. He then starts his leaving dialogue and you can get him to rejoin without hassle.

    Expected behavior:
    Dorn shouldn't be afraid of Ardrouine and want to leave the party after I've spoken to her and saved her boy.

    (Edit: I didn't realise Dorn actually left...)

    Hi all,

    I don't know if it's a bug, but Dorn is always "leaving" my team ... and keep asking me "if I'm sure" ... but I've never asked him to leave !

    Silly question, but is your rep too high? He is evil, you lose 2 rep when he joins and if it gets too high he like all evil characters will leave. I think if you get 17-18 area for rep.

    an evil char will leave the party at a reputation of 19/20.

    but its still a bug, when he want to leave because of the reputation, then he should simply say he go and not ask if he can go

    I've been having this problem but in mine Dorn just leaves and doesn't say anything, and my rep is only 12 right now.

    My reputation is of 19. I don't know if it's because of that.

    I just win a level of reputation and Dorn asked me if I wanted him to leave ... so it must be that ! It's annoying !

    Reputation problem. Dorn doesn't like helping the weak.

    Is there a guy as strong as Dorn, but who will not leave the party like that ?? I remember Minsc but he comes with the other girl ... and I don't want her :(.

    Maybe Shar-tel, Kagain... Or just rescue Dyna and make her "disappear" :D

    I have a reputation of 20 and every so often Dorn asks me if I really want him to leave the party. I say no and he stays.

    It's very convenient for me, but I can't help feeling its a bug.

    Pick up the Helm of Opposite Alignment and put it on Dorn. Problem solved. Neutral Good Blackguard. He cant use Rancor +1 anymore though.

    i have read in an other Forum, that a high charisma of the main character can help keeping characters (maybe BG2 only)

    That would also cause him to lose all of his blackguard abilities

    Yes, probably a bug. Hopefully the original evil npcs don't behave like that.

    It is a bug as of now. A high charisma usually causes evil aligned characters to leave the party (sometimes for good).

    So once you reach reputation of beyond 18 (which means 19 or 20) this behaviour triggers in Dorn - but it is bugged. He will react as if you removed him manually by the "reform party" button.

    And he will ask again and again over time as long as your reputation is 19 or more.
    Exactly ... so I just kick him off of my team ... annoying lol !

    Yes, but this reaction is one to me supposedly kicking him out, not because he's frustrated with the reputation. I'd assume he'd say something along the lines of "I'm fed up with being the good guy, I'm leaving!" instead of "you want me to leave?"..

    Same here, although i have the feeling it does happen when you do something "good"....During the last three hours i played, he asked about 5 times. The only time he kept his mouth shut was when i told taila ('?') in nashkel that i found her husband as a bloody mess, torn into pieces, etc instead of politely saying that he is dead.
