@LadyRhian - I don't know superheroes from that era well enough to recognise them (most of my comic reading experience comes from late 70's/80's comic books I inherited from my cousins), I just know of Liefeld because, well, he has a bit of a reputation. Now that I googled Cable I do see an uncanny recemblance, though. I even think I had a comic book or two with that dude. Still, damn those Liefeldians! :P

It was very funny though. There was a sequel list to it as well. Thanks for linking, and keep up the good images. They're the only way of overcoming my post-Liefeld stress syndrome now.

LMAO! Even reading comic books back when I was a kid, I noticed how Liefeld used to screw up feet.

Still, say what you will about his absurdly anatomically incorrect drawings, Liefeld did as good a job at conveying action and intensity as any comic book artist I've read (though keep in mind I haven't touched a comic book in probably close to twenty years).

Call me cynical, but have we gotten so used to girls with dyed hair that even artists see nothing wrong with white/blonde hair and brown eyebrows? It always jumps off the page at me.

There's some excellent Icewind Dale style portraits on this page. I'm almost tempted... :)

The original artwork is from Mario Wibisono and it's missing even roughly 1/5 of the lower part as well...
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
@Valky You are right. They flipped the image as well. Here is the real image.

I apologize. At the time, there were no comments on the image, now there are and they point this out. Thank you for drawing my attention to it!

hihi :) I _do_ love that pic! don't take a look at my avatar for sure ^^ (i hope the author don't mind, but using it since at least~one year on totalwar.com)

Oh, you got even the deviant-version :P nice nice...might ask a friend of mine of the kanji meaning.

These are some really great pictures.
It would help my poor browsers load times if they were wrapped in spoiler tags though.

Call me lazy, but I would like the pictures to be in spoiler tags too, instead of links. Clicking on links feels so mechanical compared to this great slideshow you've got going on here.

Sorry, but I much prefer the slideshow format of the thread. Clicking one link after another without even knowing what they lead to is a tedious hassle IMO.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
@ajwz @flashburn @SharGuidesMyHand Fixed! The last pic is a placeholder for me, so it shall remain unspoiled.

I never had any problem viewing this thread without the spoiler tags as well and most of the time I use an IPad to view it, not exactly what I'd call a powerful computer. I really prefer the thread without the storm of spoiler tags.

I think link format if better. Links only, not in *img* tag. One can just click the middle button of a mouse and open them in a new tab. Scrolling down or opening each spoiler tag is tedious. And most of the pictures are either too hollywood-ish or too naked.

I don't care how it's shared, thanks for the effort of tracking down the portraits, they're fantastic.

@LadyRhian, I'm with @Stargazer5781. Thank you for sharing all these amazing pics! If only i had enough time in my life to make all the characters I have had an inspiration for from these!

Possibly the most beautiful elf portrait I've ever seen:

    image

Don't know who the original artist is.

Our own Kurumi was kind enough to crop these into BG:EE format:

He also did an "alternate" version, which added a glow to the character's face:
