Bug Bounty: Raise dead bug?

Please help. Recently my party member Imoen died. I had the cleric at temples cast raise dead on her. But after coming back to life, she is "not responsive". She is like still as a statue and petrified or something. When I select her there is no response and there is no commands I can give her. Her inventory is also inaccessible, it is a faded view. Is there something I have done wrong or is this a bug?

Can you provide a save game with the problem? Zip it up and click "Attach a file" below the comment box.

Also, please don't post the same topic twice.

Hi and sure, I attached my save game here. In the save game, imoen has been resurrected from death by an npc cleric but is in the bugged state I described above. I am unable to command her, she doesn't seem to be in my control. I posted this under new players because I wasn't sure if this was a bug? I also wanted more access to help asap. Its quite heart breaking to face such a bug on my first play through and it happening to a classic npc like imoen.

Wow, this is weird. "Raised" Imoen's HP is -1 and she has every possible death flag: Acid Death, Dead, Exploding Death, Flame Death, Frozen Death, Really Dead, Stone Dead... How did she actually die? (Trying to reproduce this.)

If I edit her HP to 1, she returns to normal and can be raised without problems.

I just tested out a few things using shadow keeper. I tried using stone to flesh, greater restoration, remove curse etc on imoen after she is raised from dead but none of it helped! she simply cannot be 'moved' or 'commanded'. this has to be a bug. i think its a pretty major bug considering this happens to companions who are raised from the dead and companions do die pretty often in this game

Hi Jalily, she was killed by lady silke in beregost. Lady silke casted a level 3 lighting bolt, imoen was the target of the spell and died instantly while the rest of the party scrambled off the lightning's way.

Could you please, please teach me how I can edit her hp to 1 and fix this? Do I simply use shadow keeper to edit to 1 hp and raise her as per normal?

I have been trying to 'fix' her for the past hour, rather frustrating.

I have attached the fixed save above and registered the bug. Yes, it's just as simple as using Shadowkeeper to edit her HP to 1. :) She will be alive once you do this; what I meant was that I was able to raise this living Imoen without problems if she died again.

Hi Jalily, your solution isn't working for me. I tried to change her hp to 1 but it will revert to 0 again. I attached my latest save file. Is it possible for you to fix this one please? I'll try to tweak around in the meantime.

I tried changing her hp to 1 while she was dead and after she is raised, but it doesn't fix the problem. I can't figure out how you fixed it :(

Here you go. Oddly enough, this Imoen had -2 HP.

I don't know how you did it but you did! thank you so much Jalily! I really appreciate it, now Imoen can be part of the party again! XD

Give me the steps to reproduce this problem consistently from either a) a new game or b) a save game you provide where the damage isn't already done and

I will give you an invitation to the BGEE/BG2EE beta test.

Time is of the essence, urgent, ASAP and all of that. Post your solution here! Deadline is this Friday.

I must be able to reproduce this using the current production build according to your instructions for your entry to count. Note that participation in the beta test is contingent upon signing an NDA.

    This one is harder...

@Cerevant After killing lots and lots of party members I think I found the cause. EE/Shadowkeeper.
If you have a dead party member when you save in SK or EEK this happens for some reason.

Hmmm...ok, well I'll leave this open in case anyone stumbles across this in game. If not, we may close it as a *keeper problem.

When you Keepersave a game with a dead party member in it, every death flag is automatically set, including the one for petrification. This causes the funky statue-like appearance when you load the game. Clearing the flags and saving again prevents the problem.

@Jalily, just tried killing CTRL+Y Minsc at the start of the game and the flags that were set are:
    1. Cd State Notvalid
    2. State Dead; and
    3. State Really Dead.
After reloading a game saved with those flags in *Keeper, then CRTL+R-ing him back to life, Minsc proceeds to lay on the floor with no selection circle and is completely unresponsive.

If I load up an edited game in *Keeper, I get a whole pile more states that become active - including berserk, confusion, stoned death, sleeping, silenced, etc.

Appears to be a *Keeper problem. Something else for me to fix later.

Clicking to the right-side of the table (highlighted in red on the image to the right) should clear the state flags, then set the character to 1HP it appears you don't even need to touch the HP, just clear the flags and reload the edited game.

1 & 3 are custom, umbrella states that turn up true if one of many other states are true--in this case, STATE_DEAD. CD_STATE_NOTVALID was a shorthand of mine for excluding characters from banters (i.e. not sleeping, silenced, etc.) while STATE_REALLY_DEAD is an umbrella for all of the various ways to die from Fixpack.

@CamDawg, I'm pretty sure it was still only an issue with Keeper. When it saved in EE Keeper with those flags, it saved a whole lot of other states as well. States that shouldn't actually be active. The easy way around this is to just click in the marked area (in EE Keeper) in order to clear the current states.

Unless this is something separate of EE Keeper. In which case, it needs to be hunted down and smushed.

I am unable to replicate it any other way, however.
