I always just assumed that your characters were carrying around torches, or your wizards were casting Light spells.

There's an option called "Group Infravision" which I've never figured out its purpose.
I think it applies infravision to everyone given that anyone in the party has infravision.

The use of penalties such as Thaco +2, AC +2, in a 'dark designated area' if the character doesn't have infravision, an equipped torch in the party, or a light spell in the party will definitely add more atmosphere to the game when travelling in dark dungeons or caves, and it will bring value to magic items related to infravision.

If party members without infravision are given penalties, would enemies without infravision also have to be given penalties? *-)

Not saying something like that shouldn't be done - I like the idea! :D
Just take a bit of time is all. Not sure how much time. n.n

If something like this is implemented, it definitely has to be applied to every creature in the game. Every creature without infravision anyway.

Sorry, pretty sure those gibberlings have infravision

I think I agree with what @Draith012 is saying. Most anything you meet in a dungeon or cave or underdark is going to have infravision. Unless perhaps it's another party with human adventurers. In that case, they should be treated the same way.
