But there HAS been information released that they are working on it, right?
I haven't visited the forums in a while so i don't know what anyone said, but i remember them saying that they will only do bg2ee if the sales of bg1ee were high enough.

Yes. They are working on BGII:EE but it's under nda so we who BETA-test the games cannot tell when it is coming out.
Might I suggest you all follow @ TrentOster, @ daigledopple, @ CameronTofer, and #BG2EE on Twitter? While they are still cryptic and evasive, they have been able to post there more than they've been able to do here. There's a lot being said about BG2 there, with interesting things to speculate about.
Diagledoople only says stuff like "omg 200 pages of text just to finish dorn's quest" "2000 lines omg" I keep asking for victoria updates but no luck one day my precious... one day *looks outside*

Well...he only conveys the important information... :-)
@mylegbig As it was said in other posts in the forum, the game is bringing lots of bug fixes and may bring the new graphic renderer. There is also a rumored new NPC as well as the NPCs that were introduced in BGEE.
We want to make sure that we can hit the projected release date before we estimate it. But definitely before the end of 2013, if that helps narrow things down for anyone.
For me the release of BG 2 EE could be delayed to 2014 or even 2015, i would prefer a better work in shapping the already existting BG EE. I always thought BG 2 better than BG, surely the actual EE version of BG could use some new quests, new areas, new items, new... banters (at least between the new NPCs).
I'm all foward for an long term adventure in BG EE system (with the size of BG and BG 2 maybe) that doesn't have anything to the Bhaalspawn saga. Paid DLC in this matter will not be abusive and would be well received by the community (i think).
Something starting in Calimport, or maybe even in the west areas of Faerun, from where few info and adventures are aknowledge (for me at least), just avoid places that already have been touched by other D&D games, neverwinter and thay for example.
An adventure for Waterdeep would be real nice also.
Isn't that i don't want BG 2 EE, i really want it, but i prefer to have my waiting worth the time than a fast food game.
If i have to give a suggestion, this is Baldur's Gate, the history of a spawn of Bhaal, but also part of the consequences of the time of troubles for one of the Dead Tree, maybe something involving a chase for the Crown of Horns could make a enjoying adventure.
It was looked in Waterdeep during the time of troubles(a nice start, on the city or on the surroundings at least, and a chance for infinite engie to work in the greatest city of Faerun), During Myrkul fight with Midnight (the mortal whom replaced Mystra after her Dead and had also killed Myrkull), before diyng, myrkull recovered the crown and infused his essence on it, and since then, few reports of the crown have being heard.
An adventure like this could also give an conclusion to another open hole of the time of troubles (unless the spirit eater events in NWN2 MotB count as a final death for Mirkul).
It'd be nice to see some offshoot adventures, such as those of Minsc and Boo, Imoen, Sarevok, etc... if not as PCs, then as major characters/companions alongside your own new character, in whatever scenario their games follow. Another idea: Have a game where you are a member of the Flaming Fist in Baldur's Gate, seeing you start from humble beginnings as a recruit in training and patrols, to becoming embroiled in the intrigue and conspiracies that lurk in the shadows of the city.
The end of 2013 is actually pretty soon, and since it is "definitely" in 2013 that means they can't be aiming for very late 2013 release. So considering there's only 7 months left in this year BG2EE is actually just few months away at the most!
Edit: Makes you wonder even more why are they so "hush, hush" about this, most companies would be trying to market their product very hard that close to release.
They still have the approval process with Wizards of the Coast etc, so content wise everything needs to be cleared.
They also have some parts of the engine to rework to get it up and running on Android tablets. I'm guessing we won't get any confirmations until the coding is complete and bugfixed for Android (which is also supposed to improve other versions as well).
There is also the Intel chipset issue that hasn't been fully fixed yet.

I'm ready to pre-order
