Shoal raises everyone?

Okay, I was travelling cross the coastline, Jaheira was sadly killed by a small bite from a poisonous spider. We happened upon the blue skinned beauty Shoal the Nereid and Neera went and kissed her. (hey, she is a girl gone wild!) She drowned, ofcourse. When Shoal yielded, she raised not only Neera but also Jaheira too!

So I guess she resurrects every party member currently dead. Might be useful if you are short on cash and have a few dead members. Ofcourse, then you have to deal with an angry ogre mage with 1 hp party members with no equipment, but still..

Droth killed everyone except my charname and steadfast Imoen, we managed to end the ogre with potions, kiting, and expending the lightning wand. Then my charname was so mad with rage and sorrow that he electrocuted the wicked blue woman with the last charge of his wand. There both my char and Immy got a nice 2500 xp boost and leveled up. Had to leave two plate mails on the ground as we made our way to the Morning song temple, though. Oh well..

    No, I think this is legitimate - it's possible she feels guilty for potentially killing any of your other party members when she attacks you.

    Her melee attacks are pathetic, I think she may be just using her punch. Her little, blue, delicate punch that does 1-2 non-fatal damage. :p So she can't really kill anyone except the initial kiss.

    It's legit and lazy at the same time. Her spell is meant to target the whole party, though that might be because it was extra work to track the member killed and raise just that one. It's easily justified, though, since she wants the party to help free her from Droth.

    And yeah, she attacks barehanded so she's not going to be killing anyone else.

    Heh, thank you. Then again I think 5k xp is a tad much for a creature who can not kill anyone other than first contact.

    It says above that nereids are worth 975 xp and their kiss allow a save vs breath weapon at -2 (so you hold your breath to avoid being drowned??) they have some other nasty abilities as well and males can not attack them (no save!) at all since they are so beautiful! Wow.You know, if this ability was implemented, that belt of sex change would be very useful for a male only party. Also, I am not sure how I feel for a nereid to be able to cast Mass raise dead (equivelant of a priest HLA or succesful wish spell!) but it is for ease of use, I see.

    In addition, I now know what a shawl is, English is not my native language so I never knew the word 'shawl', and never bothered to look it up cos I wanted to preserve its mystery. From the illustration, it looks like a scarf or turban, no? ^^

    @lunar That's pretty close. Scarf, Wrap, etc.
