Bill BG-001: Mod Nomenclature - 'EEKeeper' to 'KEEper'

Props to @CaptRoy for giving me the idea.

Whereas Baldur's Gate has been the focus of over a decade of mod-based entertainment.

Whereas the most popular version of a character sheet mod was named GateKeeper (Baldur's 'Gate Keeper')

Whereas the update for this mod was named ShadowKeeper ('Shadow(s of Amn) 'Keeper')

Whereas the most recent update has been dubbed 'EEKeeper' ('Enhanced Edition Keeper')

Whereas the most recent name 'EEKeeper' just doesn't cound as cool as it could

Be It Resolved That, by order of the heir of the Throne of Bhaal, 'EEKeeper' shall now be refered to as 'KEEper'

Does anyone wish to second the motion so that we may begin the process of amendments?

How can we use it in a sentence? Shadowkeeper was so popular that it was used as SK as a verb. Example: 'I SK'ed my fighter/thief into a fighter/assasin' 'You can SK to fix that bug.' Etc.

@lunar I Kp'd that bug right in the bud.

@lunar 'to EEK' does sound better than 'to KEEp' *sad face*

"I decided to KEEp Imoen into a Wild Mage after I dualed her. KEEping NPC's makes this game so much fun. I even KEEp't a Bag of Holding into my inventory so I don't have to micro manage my inventory anymore. I'm a born again KEEper."

    VS.

"I decided to EEK Imoen into a Wild Mage after I dualed her. EEKing NPC's makes this game so much fun. I even EEK'd a Bag of Holding into my inventory so I don't have to micro manage my inventory anymore. I'm a born again EEKer."

The same program will probably work for BG2EE, so EEKeeper continues to make sense.

I think it's sort of a win-win here. If some folks wish to write KEEper it will be understood what that means, as BG slang. But EEKeeper should still remain the the official name of the app.

    ohaithar :D.

I think EE Keeper will stay as is for an official name for the program, but to each their own as to what they want to call it.

If you want to call it *Keeper, Enhanced Keeper, KEEper, BEEKeeper (which really isn't that good when it comes a Google search), Gate Enhanced Edition Keeper (GEEK, for short), or anything else, you may do as long as most people know and understand what the other is talking about.

I asked some time ago if there was any consensus on a name change and, while numerous suggestions were put forward, nothing but the original name had the majority of votes. If you can reach a majority consensus over the name, I have absolutely nothing against changing it.

People want an easy two letter abbreviation. I think "EK" works. "I EK'd my human fighter into a fighter-thief."

My favourite has always been BEEKeeper. I get the search issues, though.

    I vote nay. EEKeeper.

It sounds cooler, plus, what is KEEper trying to say? K Enhanced Edition per? It's nonsense.

"SCS was tough, but I EEKed out a win."

Yeah, I like the name as it is.

Perhaps EEKer would be more preferable?

This was discussed back when EEKeeper was launched. I really don't see the tool's name changing now.
