@Seldar I hope you manage to finish it (even if the contest is over), it looks really good so far! Your Nashkel Mines picture was also really awesome (though admittedly, it does more look like "Mine" instead of "Nashkel Mine" but it's hard to differentiate one from the other I guess).
Here's my contribution, an image of Cloakwood. Looking north, so you can see a silouhette of the mine building on the hill, and a little glimpse of Baldurs Gate in the background (if you zoom in you can spot Ramasith's tower and four towers that could be the ducal palace). A lonely charname walks through the landscape in the forground..
The image was made in photoshop from scratch, no photographic material ofc:) I attached the jpg, but I can send psd/tiff as well.
That's great !! it's like some HD remake of the Nashkel's cinematic.
@Krax , good too. The BG City in the background is a good idea. I think we underestimate how a real people can see from a map to an other. For exemple I'm sure we can see Beregost from the rooftop of the Friendly Arm Inn. That's the same here with that BG city
Hmm, it's getting late, and there's no word from the host if video will count as submission. I think I'll post the picture, just in case. Better safe than sorry, right?
Think I might be a bit late. I didn't have much time to add much detail but eh, what the heck.
Larswood.
Note: I did this from memory so some exact details may be off. I always found it to be one of the most striking scenes in BG1. Same goes with Firewine Bridge. They stuck with me ever since my first playthrough. Area '3' of Cloakwood gave me the same feeling also.
I just realised the perspective in the top of the tower is 'wonky'. Urgh. Painting on a computer screen is beginning to turn my eyes square, i just know it!

Firewine Bridge at night. I don't paint many landscapes but I had a lot of fun with a few textures. Please click to see larger image.
here is my contribution for that contest :
Nashkel Mines !
it's not exactly what I wanted to do and I have inconveniently delete my .psd file -_-
And I tried to keep the same colours and atmosphere as on this image (not the cloakwood mines) :

Shiny.
edit: No way I'm going to finish this on time. Will probably upload it a few days after the contest ends, because I do really want to draw this.
