I displeased cromwell...

I stole from cromwell early in the game by charming him and then stealing his stuff right in front of him, and now whenever I try to visit him he calls the cops on me. I am quite (Yes, quite) far into the game and I don't want to do everything all over again. Any way that this can be remedied without me going to a save before I stole from him? (Hehe)

There's probably a global variable or something you could edit with Shadowkeeper. Someone who knows more than I would have to tell you.

You may have to Ctrl-Y him before he calls the cops and replace him with another Cormwell. Wsmith01 is his code.

    Another ninja!

So his name is Cromwell and he makes a hammer named Crom? Interesting.

just think of it as, hey, you are sorry for stealing his stuff, so now he gets to live at your keep for free, for repent or some garbage yes? :)

Hm, interesting issue. The altered state of the areas as you go through the game are stored inside the save files, so to fix it properly you could likely alter the state of the container from there, or worst-case, delete that area (the inside of Cromwell's house) from the save file to reset it.

Or you kidnap him and force him to work as your own slave master blacksmith in your own Keep, under the threat of torture and death or worse. Depends on how you interpet you character's alignment, I think. :-)
Hehehe, my character is a chaotic good fighter/thief so it was probably what sarevok said, but I would still charge him a monthly fee of 500GP a month. Hey he gets 5,000 to 20,000GP for every item (goddamn them dwarves and their greed) so he'd still have enough money to buy alot of crap so I think it's a fair bargain.

So basically, get rid of him and put a clone that is friendly to you instead. Sounds like a good sci-fi book plot.

    A capital idea.
I have a strange feeling that in my next playthrough Charname's stronghold will not only house a team of master-smiths but also temples to major deities and exotic merchants from lands far away (and far below, as well). And, likely, a bordello.

Alternatively, live with the consequences of stealing stuff from NPCs.

I always clear the first floor of Watchers Keep and use that as my main storage area. I spawn Cromwell, Ribald, Marina, and a couple others there. Its got a library, a kitchen, a great hall, a crypt, and best of all I can go back and get my stuff in ToB.

It has never occurred to me to do something like that but I love the way people modify the game to suit their own playing styles.

    Well, consider yourself lucky.

At least you didn't get beheaded like Charles I.
