Wild Spell Storm!

So I was goofing off (as I often do) in BG2 just now when I stumbled upon a crazy tactic for my new favorite class; the wild mage. Here's how it goes:
1. Put on an Improved Chaos Shield
2. Use Nahal's Reckless Dowemer to bombard your enemy with your nastiest spells.
3. Once you start to get low on Nahal's use it to cast Limited Wish (make sure your wisdom is high enough).
4. Ask the genie to restore your spells. He refresh several of your Nahal's.
5. Repeat steps 2-5 as needed until the enemy is gone.

Imagine the possibilities! No more need for projected images and wish scrolls! Unlimited casting! Well, as long as it doesn't blow up in your face.

I love the wild mage! There is so much you can do with it! Nothing can stand in my way! Liches, demons, dragons, and all kinds of foes fall before the might of my spell spamming wild mage! I haven't even gotten up to level 8 spells and already my character record shows Horrid Wilting as my favorite spell! Uh, sure there are reloads in there, but not as many as you might think. Most of the time I just reload because I feel like it. I have an interesting play style.

Wild Mages are awesome for stuff like that...

Until you get some less than enjoyable wild surges.

Flesh to Stone on self would prolly hinder your plans if it comes and succeeds...

Wild mage is the most exploitable caster kit out there, no doubt.

In bg2 if you quick-key NRD on keyboard, pressing that key will give you NRD even if you don't have any memorised. Even if the character you chose is not a wild mage. That's broken and fun.

Spell sequencers and contingencies ignore NRD's wild surge, you can cast these via NRD with %100 success. Wild surge will occur on the very next spell you'll cast. Saves a lot of memorisation/rest woes to cast a contingency or sequencer.

Well, that's how wild mages are supposed to be used :)

To avoid Wild Surges, you can cast a chain contigency with 3 greater chaos shields in it. But this will be doable in 2EE, probably. Or even worse, fixed there... Also with wish/limited wish, you can indeed restore your spells, by using them *correctly*...
