Did I purchase a broken product? If so let me know ASAP

I just bought this game on ipad. A friend told me the game had tons of broken quests/can't finish the game. I bought the game on ios store, no warning.

Can anyone who owns the ipad let me know if this is true or not. If it's true I will contact apple store for a quick refund.

Also checked baldursgate.com no warnings either, so I guess my friend is wrong?

Thanks

    That isn't true. It may have been like that before but it should be working fine now.

    I am aware of two broken quests (you don't get the identify scroll in Candlekeep, and that paladin in the wilderness doesn't talk to you so you miss a chance to kill half a dozen gibberlings).

    However, the game does have massive performance issues when AOE DOT spells are involved (e.g. Stinking cloud will kill your frame rate); Overhaul is working on a fix but if/when that will happen is unknown.

    To give you an idea the amount you lose out on from not being able to do these two quests the total experience you get for them is 300 experience. The games experience cap is 161,000 experience. So not being able to do them is really not that big of a deal (you also lose out on a scroll case and gold which kind of sucks but thats really about it).

    As ambrennan pointed out you might have some performance issues when dealing with area of effect spells like stinking cloud.

    Those are fixed in the next patch anyway.

    a thief luckily doesn't have to lose out on the scroll case because you can keep reloading until you successfully pickpocket the identify scroll. that's what I did so I am ok for this game :) does ios have console commands? you could use them to spawn an identify scroll for the quest

    I've completed the game a couple times on my iPad with no problems.

    @greenfish

    I don't know if you are coming back since your question was answered, but I wanted to wish you a good time playing through BG:EE for the first time. You are in for a treat.

    Have fun!
