Ranger/Mage

So, when the big patch comes out I'm going to play a new game of BG. I wanted to play some sort of ranger type (my favorite D&D class), but none of the options in BG really speak to me. Neither the kits nor the multiclass options.
So I wanted to ask those with modding experience if it's feasible and recommended to just use EEkeeper to change it? If I make, for example, a ranger/cleric and switch fighter to ranger in the keeper, will the game automatically adjust? Or would I have to change other stuff as well manually?
Or is it better to just make a single-class ranger and add the mage class? Or would it require actual modding (which would be out of my league)?
Thanks

But no, seriously, Mage/Ranger needs to be a thing in this vidya gaem.
You can create a fighter/mage, give yourself two free pips in two weapon style, hated enemy and charm animal ability via EEkeeper, you will lack stealth though.
If you wish stealth, go f/m/thief and put all your thiefly points into move silently. Add free pips to two weapon style, hated enemy and charm animal via EEkeeper. Your level advancement will be very slow, but this is closest to a ranger/mage you can get. (Actually a stalker/mage that can backstab!)
Hmm, can you use EEkeeper to give a character ToB high-level abilities? And can you add spells into their spell book? My idea is that I might make a ranger/cleric and give him Use Any Item and some mage spells in his cleric list.
You can't put mage spells into priest scroll. You need to create new priest spells copying the existing wizard spells to do so. Say, you need magic missile in priest scroll. Open up wizard magic missile spell via DLTCEP, change its spell type to 'cleric', and spell location to priest, and save the spell with a different name, say, CUSTOM1.spl. This is your priestly magic missile spell. Then open up your priest scroll via EEkeeper and you can put the CUSTOM1 spell into your known priest spells lists.
Edit: I see now that you mean to just add Ranger perks on top of the fighter class. I want the Record screen to say "Ranger" though. Vain :P
What's DLTCEP, though? I'm kinda new att this.
Infinity Engine games store game text (spell/item names, descriptions, dialog) in a file called DIALOG.TLK. Spell and item files then have reference #s in them that point to the appropriate line of the DIALOG.TLK file for their names and descriptions (i.e., they aren't stored in the spell/item files). If you copy the spell files from BGEE to BG2EE, the spells should work fine, but if BGEE and BG2EE have different DIALOG.TLK file reference #s, you would get random lines of text for the spell names and descriptions.
Or a Blade - being already a Fighter/Thief/Mage hybrid...but better at fighting than the usual Bards.
@AstroBryGuy thanks, that clarified what must be done methinks.
