I am wondering. Why would I want a DRM free version? Forgive my ignorance, but I know only one reason why. Piracy.(That include installing the same license on more devices then agreed)
Convenience. I've had a lot of computers over the last 10 years. Re-installing all the software I like on my new ones is time-consuming enough without the added intentional, deliberate, entirely unnecessary inconvenience of DRM.
Yes, but will the Mac App Store version actually contain any DRM is my question. I think a DRM free copy from the Mac App Store would be the best of both worlds.
All MAS apps contain the same "DRM" in that if you move them to a Mac without your iCloud credentials you'll be asked to provide them when you start the game. Other than that they have nothing.

Thats not entirely true. There are quite a few apps don't dont require that check. Most do, but some developers choose to leave that check out. Namely, some apple apps, free apps, and some indie games.
Which makes me wonder: since BG:EE seems to have the option of several XP-caps, to allow for different adventures/games per install, will BG2:EE be an 'update' or a complete new install? If the former, than would they also be releasing a OSX-non-app-store update for those of us who bought directly from Beamdog/Overhaul?

And DRM does not bother me. Never had problems with it. I haven't been hanging around with usb drives in years, App Store suits me better.
It is quite funny that people always keep blaming industry for this. I blame people who make illegal copies.
DRM is an intentional dis-service to the honest customer.
It's a sad day when thieves get BETTER SERVICE for their troubles, along with a free ride.
I'm starting to like you guys more and more!
Maybe @TrentOster / @PhillipDaigle or @AOsaw can answer this?
