non-mainstream music

So I'm a hip hop dancer. And I'm kind of looking for some non mainstream music with fresh new beats .

1 of my favourite songs who weren't mainstream ( at least in Belgium) is Santigold - You'll find a way (Switch and Sinden remix ) and santigold - freak like me.

Do you guys know some songs or artists, I'm open for anything, slow, fast, instrumental, a capella.

( And when I said new beats I don't mean ONLY electronical music , I just want to get to know some new songs, types of music etc.) Thanks

Not new at all, but Jurassic 5 were a great Old-School Hip-Hop group. Really good beats, fantastic lyrics. They were good live, too. The Albums Jurassic 5 and Power in Numbers are pretty damn good & the songs Concrete Schoolyard and What's Golden are good examples.

I've just realised I don't actually own the mentioned albums, and am now on Amazon in a different tab.

@ShadowHunter Do you use Last.fm? It's a website that does random plays of a band or genre you specify and other similar artists. I often stick in the name of a band I like and find 1 or 2 new artists I've never heard of who're pretty good.

Playing the "Radio" there for Santigold would throw in Azealia Banks, MIA and Lajor Lazer, for example.

*Edit* Despite being fairly mainstream now, Azealia Banks' 212 is a tune. I heard the radio edit. 50% of it was bleeped. I'm glad there was no-one else in my gym at the time as I nearly cried laughing.

I remember first hearing Handlebars by Flobots years ago @BaldursCat. I think I was actually playing WoW (Un'goro crater) at the time it came on the radio. Rarely have I heard a song that swings from the innocent to the apocalyptic with such satiric panache.
