@TheGraveDigger‌ AHAHAH! Oh hell that made me laugh. That is about the only thing I've ever used him for successfully. He goes through doors first. He's the point man! Well he was. Sadly the first door he went through someone shot him in the neck.
~Here lies Garrick. Whatever it was he was meant to do, he's doing it now.~

I feel like Dyna would've been fitting as a sorceress. I'm surprised I'm the first here to even suggest it.

One thing that bugs me about Dynahier is her missing ability to Inspire Fear (as per the Horror spell), x3 per day, as is standard to all Witches of Rashaman, regardless of class.

I mean, Edwin..sort of kinda...got the benefits of being a Red Wizard, so why is Dynaheir being the one who got shafted???

Kind of pointless to be honest. In Rashaman, all witches are basically Sorceresses, since their Land-pact allows them to cast any spells they know without preparation (but doubles the cast time). But doesn't function outside of Rashaman.

@ZanathKariashi‌ I've actually been thinking about that very idea. I might make it an innate ability for Dynaheir. Add it to her Cre. file. :) She deserves some balance. Granted it might be a little OP? Maybe?
I mean edwin gets a whole extra spell. . .

I have no strong feelings either way.

Edwin has TWO extra spells per spell level (in addition to his specialist bonus..unless they nerfed his amulet without my noticing). Which is a pretty damn huge advantage, for a mage, since they have limited spell slots. He also, only loses divination, instead of the evocation conjurers are supposed to lose (but that's just poor implementation of opposed schools in general).

In BG1/BGEE the amulet grants a bonus of 1 extra spell/level. In BG2/BG2EE its raised to 2 extra spells per level.

Meant to vote her best quality is minsc, accidentally did arrogant :( I just didn't think she was all that great, the way she spoke annoyed me and I just didn't feel she was all that good of a fighter. I had her killed and got neera back :p

Assuming you don't want to deal with Neera's unpredictability (and at low levels she causes chaos far more than any bonuses) and you are running a good party, she is a perfectly reasonable choice. Nothing screams out "take me!!" but there are no glaring weaknesses either.

I still like her, Edwin has a lot more personality and fun. But he isn't suited to every play through. They need to get rid of that damn amulet.

I think as a character in a story (e.g., novelization of the game) Dynaheir is potentially interesting. All the witchy lore stuff, and how she manages Minsc with his uncontrollable berserker rages are potentially strong elements to work with. But just as she comes across as a toon I'd have to agree she is the least colorful Mage in the game.

I'm not really fond of Dynaheir (or Minsc, for that matter), mostly because Minsc is just too over-the-top for my tastes, even if he is amusing in small doses, and especially because every time Dynaheir misuses a thee/thy/thou (which is pretty much every time she uses one) it makes me cringe. I know it's a silly reason to avoid a character, but there it is.

@cervanntes‌ , it doesn't make me reject Dynaheir, but I also cringe at that mangled Elizabethan English. What is so hard about subjective case (thou), objective case (thee) and possessive (thy, or thine before a word that begins with a vowel)? The BG writers aren't alone in messing it up, though; it's all over the place in TV, movies and games.

The NPC Project expands Dynaheir's character extremely well. I highly recommend it. It has permanently changed the way I think of her, for the better. Everything that gets hinted at in the limited lines in the original game gets fleshed out beautifully.

Good grief guys, it was the 90s. Cut the 90s some slack!

I always imagined that Dynaheir's misuse of thee, thou, thine, etc., was a way of indicating that she is a Rashemi who does something similar in the translation of her native tongue to Common.
