Pointless poll if people are making up their own criteria, don't you think? I picked Dorn because he has the most strength.

I didn't take Rasaad during BG:EE because monks are so squishy then, but I added him to my party in BG2 and I love the fact that you can debate him on his religion and influence him and I was surprised by what a deep character he was, and I also liked he was reasonable. Also monks rule in BG2.

On the otherhand, I took Dorn in BG:EE liked him a lot then, but I find myself mostly annoyed with him in BG2 because he's stupid evil. Yes, let's kill everything without thinking!!! You can be outright evil without bloodshed. He has no imagination ahha. It felt like he was making more work for himself than he needed.

And I like Baeloth cause he's a dark elf sorcerer =)

Hexxat. Love her dialogues with others of her "kind" and certain party members like Aerie :) ... not to mention her preference for f_____s *^_^* ..

    Rasaad in my game has
112 HP, -16 AC (Bracers AC3+Monk bonuses at level 24), -7THAC0 (un-nerfed table from BGTweaks), hits for 11-30 (with belt of hill giant strength, 14-33 with his gloves...not great but acceptable) and has 72% innate resistance to magic.

Just one level more and he'll be able to hit anything with +4 fists. Yeah, he's a powerhouse.

Not to mention a pretty well-written character. I can't wait to see what happens tto him in ToB.

    Dorn's my favourite.
But Baeloth and Hexxat are also masterpieces.

Oooh who and where is this Baeloth?

So far I only played with Hexxat after hearing good things.

He's an Easter egg in the first game.
Visit the tower in Larswood when your character is level 5+ in at least one class.

I enjoyed Baeloth, and am very intrigued by Hexxat, but overall I'd have to say that Dorn's my favorite NPC so far. His storyline (especially in SoA) is fantastic, Gord Marriott's voice acting is superb, and from a gameplay POV his stats and abilities make him incredibly useful.

I think they're all really well written and compelling. I really dislike Neera, but that's primarily due to her character being one I generally don't get along with, rather than the quality of her writing or plotline, so it would be unfair to mark her down because of a personal dislike. I love all the others.

Especially the one that isn't listed. ;)

I still haven't played Rasaad in BG:EE - I think when the time comes I will get around to it. But as far as it goes - I liked the Hexxat quests in SoA the most.

Who doesn't like a vampire - does this really count as a spoiler now.

Neera is my favourite, I'd say. I have a distate for characters who are evil without any apparent gray-scale to their morals (if this makes sense). As pointed out earlier Dorn is a character who kills for the sheer pleasure of killing, without proper reason.

As for Hexxat, I cannot say much about her since I just acquired, but I do feel the interaction between her and Charname feels a bit stilted and out-of-place; the conversation options feel a bit off.

I have never used either the monk or the sorcerer, but I'm pretty indifferent towards monks anyway.

Exactly - in fact, that's kind of the starting point of his storyline: as a blackguard, he has to obey Ur-Gothoz's commands whether they're sensible or not...
