HELP Bodhi's Lair bug!

Hello everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read my problem and hopefully come up with a solution.
I've been playing Baldur's Gate 2 EE for a long time now, and I've been really enjoying it, however I've never had to make a direct save, so I only have quick saves and auto saves. Now I've come to a point in chapter 3 after doing ALL side quests, where I am about to confront Bodhi in her lair. This would all be fine and all, but Lassal won't spawn. I've arrived INSIDE the lower tombs, gotten past the first door/barrier with the mage, I've killed all the named vampires except for Lazzel, he's NOT spawning downstairs, so I never get to fight him, and thus bodhi never spawns, and thus I'm completely stuck with this game breaking bug...

Now I've heard there is a way to fix this with console something, to make him spawn even? But I do not know what the hell this is, it's supposedly something where you find an .ini file and you edit part of it.. I've read old posts about you having to find an "ini" file and edit part of it. I'm telling you guys it's not there, I go to Macintosh HD --> Applications --> Baldur's gate II - Enhanced Edition folder --> Game Data -->00782 --> BaldursGateIIEnhancedEdition , then I choose show package. --> Contents --> And a LOT of folders show up after this step, however, and I am not sure how to proceed after this. I believe the MacOS folder with the BaldursgateIIEnhancedEdition file might be the right file to use, but that's not an ini file, it's an unix. And it IS possible to use textedit to open it.. But when I do I just see a lot of nonsense letters.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE Baldur's gate ever since I was a child, but never really started playing it before now, and this bug is seriously close to making me rage quit, been trying to find the right answer for the last 3 hours, but to no avail. Please whoever reads this try and restore some of my lost hope and tell me how to fix this problem. :)

TLDR: I am stuck in baldur's gate in Bodhi's Lair, using a Mac OS X 10.7.5, Lassal won't spawn, please help out! :)

1. How do I get the console thingy to work on a mac?

2. Is there a way to bypass using "console" stuff entirely, or do I really need to do it? (I've read the Mac Faq https://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/16320/mac-faq but it's not doing it for me.)

    Move from BG:EE to BG2:EE

    @Freddiemurphy,

    I don't have the Mac version installed but, if I'm reading this correctly, the location of the INI file should be:

    /Users/username/Library/Containers/[whatever this is for BG2:EE]/Data/Documents/Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition/

    @mlnevese or @elminster, you might be able to get some information and report this issue about Lassal.

    @Freddiemurphy,

    Ok first thing I'm going to suggest you do is make a real save of the game and then compress it into a zip file and post it in an attachment on here. Keep the saved game though it may prove to be handy for later.

    But in terms of the location of the baldur.ini file it should be found in

    library/username/documents/Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition/

    To get the console working you need to open that file (I use textedit to open it but whatever works for you) and copy the following line above the line that has "font name" in it.

    'Program Options', 'Debug Mode', '1',

    So that part of the file should look something like

    'Game Options', 'Filter Games', '1',
    'Game Options', 'All Learn Spell Info', '1',
    'Graphics', 'Hardware Mouse Cursor', '1',
    'Program Options', 'Debug Mode', '1',
    'Program Options', 'Font Name', '',

    When that is done when you are in the game you should be able to press ctrl + command + space bar together and you'll get a little black text box that appears on the bottom of your screen.

    Type into that box the following;

    C:CreateCreature("Lassal02")

    Hopefully that will work. if not reload and try just "Lassal" without the 02.

    Ultimately though if you could put a post here and attach a save file (you'll need to make a new post on this thread to put it here). Make sure its a save from a point in the game before you used the console.

    @Troodon80 My Mac is currently unavailable. Right now I'm fighting with a Windows 8 machine... I'm losing...

    How do I find the saved games I make, where do they show up?

    I know the feeling.

    @Freddiemurphy, if you look in the directory that @elminster mentioned above (library/username/documents/Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition/) it should be a directory called 'save'. In there should be all the save games created by the game.

    Ran into the same bug last week in a multi-player game: Lassal disappeared downstairs but did not respawn in the spike room. CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("LASSAL02") retriggered his disappearance but the respawn worked the second time around and we were able to continue.

    @elminster – I think I have a save from before that point. Do you still need a copy?

    Yea I was slow out of the gate when it came to posting a bug report on this one. I also am on my cell at the moment (so looking things up is more difficult than usual). Perhaps @Troodon80 can tell you if a save is needed at this point.

    @elminster, don't think a save game is required at this time. Since @acdha says it is multiplayer and Lassal disappears, it sounds like the same issue as the one affecting the Malaaq and Minister Lloyd. It sounds like something to do with the moving between areas.

    I'm not entirely sure this is the same issue as the one originally posted by Freddiemurphy.

    @Troodon80 I should have mentioned that we had the exact same problem with Minister Lloyd, too

    @acdha, thank you for the confirmation.

    It sounds like something that primarily affects multiplayer, apparently affects single player to some degree but only a small number of people have reported as such, and it happens intermittently. The one thing all these characters have in common is moving between areas.

    @Troodon80, I'm one of those currently suffering from Minister Lloyd missing (in a single player game).
    I reported it at the end of this thread, but it also seems like another reported it seperately here.

    If the issue is tied to moving between areas, is there any way we can resolve it on our own? Tried leaving and returning to Umar Hills repeatedly, alas with no improvement.

    @acdha, in your case, how did you go about resolving the issue?

    Thank you for any help!

    @Dunamin, people can fix it if they are competent enough to write a script for it or insert a character into a save game. I'll see about uploading a script to deal with the known offenders.

    In the mean time, here's a fixed save.

    Thank you so very very much!

    (My Baldur's Gate withdrawal was getting really bad, as well.)

    @dunamin: Sorry for the late reply but for anyone else the fix was simple using the debug console:

    CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("UHMAY01")
