[Known 5703] Forgot to rest in spellhold maze - no slayer?

Hi guys!

Maybe not a bug exactly but, I actually forgot to rest the "proper" amount of times after facing bodhi, becoming slayer for the first time. I had the first dream (where you attack your party) but since then I didnt rest until I was going to face irenicus. Apparently I don¨t seem to get slayer form change now. How can one solve this?

I should say that the only mod I have installed is SCS

The closest i have is Underdark, about 40 minutes after spellhold the slayer ability is not there obviously. No mods. SKed shadowdancer into multiclass though.

Yeah EE keeper, well i did use ee keeper to add slayer innate ability and that seemed to work albeit without rep loss. I've actually checked some of above variables. Though GIVEPOWERSLAYER i didnt find in eekeper variables list, adding it and setting value to 1 works like charm. Thanks.

@Gate70, I don't see a ticket for this. Has this been logged, or should we just mark it as fixed?

I was almost certain that I got the slayer ability on multiple different playthroughs over the last month (partially due to using CTRL+J to teleport) without needing to rest. I'll test again.

@Gate70, this is my saved game from the test I did. I haven't actually rested at all in this game. I have arrived at the Underdark after completing the asylum, then saved. After making the save, I then rested, got the two-in-one dream sequence (which was weird in itself when 'Imoen' states "didn't I say you would come too late?") and was then given the Slayer ability.

Unless the issue can be reliably reproduced without mods, I'm inclined to move it to Not An Issue. I'll leave it here for a while longer, though.

@Troodon80 in my gameplay the dream never triggered because I didn't rest in Spellhold nor in Brynlaw.
And I rested in the Underdark but did not get it. I made another run, rested in Spellhold and I got it without problems.
I suppose that this happens if you sleep commonly in the game but you don't rest in Spellhold to get this dream with the Slayer Ability.
Edit: I can upload my saved game later, I don't use the Slayer Change so I don't care, but I can upload it anyway (right now I am at the Last Seal Level of Watcher's Keep, setting traps for the battles.

@CrevsDaak, I didn't rest at all in my test. The saved game I uploaded is prior to the very first rest, which means you get to see what exactly what I had upon resting after Spellhold.

You would need to upload a saved game prior to actually entering the asylum, since it could be a choice during the first dialogue with Imoen after 'the encounter'. If you get that bug, you then need to post regarding what you did throughout the gauntlet and your dialogue choices.

@Troodon80 I have a save from Spellhold, after fighting Bodhi, but I haven't rested after that yet.
I have another save from Athkatla that I can make reach Spellhold in just minutes.

@CrevsDaak, the latter would be best, just don't enter Spellhold. :-)

Did you rest at any point during that game?

Also, let me know what options you picked (example format: select options 1,1,1,2,1) and for what dialogue.

@Troodon80 I've rested a amazingly high number of times (hello, sorcerer solo run), from which dialogue? For the dreams I always picked the Evil one (these images are interesting to me, show me more) but sided with the shadow thieves (and it's much more difficult than siding with Bodhi, duh).
In the save where I am in Spellhold I just touched randomly (I'm famepalming right now) the dialogue options since I was doing it as fast as I could (and got past SoA without saving since the Asylum).
I don't recall all what I picked, I'll try with another run since this isn't helping I guess.

@CrevsDaak, for the dialogue, I meant with regards to the Coordinator/Irenicus and with Imoen. It doesn't matter about the dreams. A saved game prior to actually entering Spellhold and a list of dialogue options is what is needed, so that I can follow what you are doing to the letter in order to reproduce it. Also note anything else, for example in-game monologues, such as when the player feels faint/dizzy on the stairs just after Bodhi leaves and you get reunited with Imoen (assuming you actually accept her into the party).

    @Troodon80
The saved games in a zip, I followed the dialogues as I've said in the previous post all the times, I didn't change that.
You have different saves to test with, one with only one rest in the Asylum, another with two and the SKayer Ability and another save with no sleeps in the Asylum.
There are more saves there that could be handy too.

@CrevsDaak, I tried with 000000016-before entering the asylum—I got the dream and Slayer Change ability with no problem. Can you confirm what you had with that saved game? I'll try with some of the others.

@Troodon80 but, you got the dream in the Asylum, in Bryenlaw or in the Underdark? I got it in the Asylum with no problems, got the dream in the Underdark too, what could be causing this?
I guess that you are trying in the beta, right?
In my Valhalla run I rested in the Underdark but not in the Asylum and did not get the Slayer Ability.

@CrevsDaak, I was testing on standard public version since that's the version most everyone else will be using. I didn't rest within the asylum in your saved game mentioned above, but when I rested in the Underdark I got the dream and ability.

Happened to me even though I rested...

Didn't rest after bodhi until I was leaving the final area where you're cleared as sane. Rested, turned into slayer upon waking, nearly killed a party member after a quick dialogue with Neera. Rested again, no slayer. Regardless, no dreams. None even though I rested twice. Just realized this after finishing the svirf quests in the underdark... I tried resting about 15 times, but no dreams, no new changes, no nothing. Really don't want to redo several hours of gameplay...

Can you zip & attach a current save please @Ploughed_Jester‌ as it may be possible to force this via an area jump or chapter rewind.
    Thanks

I wish I'd have thought of those. Fortunately i was able to load the autosave right before the underdark in fish town, and a rest there triggered the dream, so I got a little lucky. Only about 50 minutes or so to redo and I'm already back ahead of where I was. I appreciate the assistance though. I think it occurred because I rested on arriving in the underdark, but it slipped in before the underdark arrival video occurred. Don't know if that would make a difference or if it's just being in the underdark.

I used to rest too much, now I rest too little. Such is the bread...

That could be something to do with it, variables might be set and checked out of order.
    Cheers
