The Abyss
Ir'reykal
Pretty clear, no?
- The true story behind Schlumpsha the Sewer King.
- The Ghaunadaur Cult clearly needs more involvement and background story as well. Not to mention I'm still eagerly waiting for a mod that lets you resurrect the cult under CHARNAME's oozing leadership.
Gullykin
The Jade Fang
Character: Firebead Elvenhair. He's from Candlekeep. He's friends with Gorion. He collects books and lore. Would be so cool if he had some knowledge about Aluando's Prophecy or your heritage. My second would be Melissan, since she got the short end of the stick compared to Sarevok and Irenicus.
Location: Windspear Hills. Partially because there is so much unused space on the map. They have crazy dryads, friggin' werewolf clans, ankhegs, a paladin's family, orcs, a dungeon, Tazok, and on top of all that a freaking Dragon! I always felt that the population was a bit low... how can Garren live there with his daughter and no one else? Should have shown a surrounding village.
Item: Hull's Longsword. Its your first quest, and... okay fine. i always wanted the Jester's Chain to be upgradeable. It should be more than just a different version of elven chain. Maybe if you meet a bard (Volo is a good candidate) he could enhance it somehow. Like make it have lingering song, or extra spells or let you learn new songs. Also would be cool if you can return Montolio's Cloak to Drizzt to get some extra goodies or something.
that one random forest maps that has a bunch of people in it what's that all about
unicorn spear I want to know if it realy is one and were it came from. Also Mazzys sword its description just casually mentions it was a gift from Arvoreen that kind of sounds like a story worth hearing
I also liked Saemon Havarian, and that Bhaalspawn guy who uncontrollably teleports around.
Place: The burial mounds (where you come out after the nashkel mines)
Item: The girdle of masculinity/femininity
Other than that, I agree, the backstories of Narcillicus Harwilliger Neen and Bassilus would be interesting. The inmates of Spellhold - especially the little girl and the old elf - would be great to know more about than what Irenicus reveals.
Area: Guarded Compound - Does this count as an "area"? If not, then maybe the Gnoll Fortress (how did they come upon that fortress, and what was their interest in keeping Dynaheir prisoner?).
Weapon: Celestial Fury - Its current description just gives vague talk about katanas in general, but not any specifics on this particular weapon.
Balduran's Island - I still don't understand enough about how lycanthropy came to the island, the relationship between the wolfweres and werewolves, and how Balduran figured in it.
Weapons I'm less interested in, but maybe how Xan got his Moonblade?
I'd also like to add Lord Binky the Buffoon
I always thought he was awesome. I'd like to see how he is accepted among the nobility. He'd also be an awesome Jester NPC. If nothing else he would have been perfect as a cameo in BG2. Maybe mocking all the actors in the Five Flagon's Inn.
Place: Cloakwood, shadow druid camp. Seems like somewhere with a lot of history but we don't learn much.
Item: The Beljuril (sp?) gem from the chicken's gullet in Umar Hills. Unless I'm being silly and didn't properly explore that storyline, all you get is some vague reference to the former owners having been "adventuring types" who came by it on an adventurous adventure. Who, what, where and how many dead???
Area with Bassilus south of High Hedge. I always wondered why is it, that everyone there is mad. Maybe there is a hidden cursed tomb of a cursed mad wizard or something.
Spider's Bane. How do two peasants find a sword like that?
Totally not looking at Talanthyr as a suspect here. Powerful mage? Check. Lives in fortress protected by golems, in a rather hidden area he doesn't like? Check. I say Talanthyr is hiding there, possibly using a pseudonym (which is why no-one ever references the mighty Talanthyr elsewhere), to escape punishment for his enchantment experiments. Mellicamp went there because he gave up hope and accepted to live among other "test subjects" of his master who shared his fate.
"Long ago, Thalantyr was an treasure hunter who quested for the lost magic of Netheril in desolate fortresses and keeps. On one such journey, the wizard appeared to have been captured by a horrid beast and only escaped through his quick thinking and the forgotten spells of Netheril"
