With that party I probably would not dual Imoen, you already have a Mage and you will continue to need a thief. (In AD&D the character will loose the use of their old class until the level of their new class exceeds the old one. Odd I know, but it means if you dual Imoen you won't have access to her thief abilities for quite some time).
But your experience totals look fine for where you are in the story. Glad you're having fun!
@Rokku, You should find some interesting battles in baldurs gate for a challenge if you think it's easy. Dualling imoen will definitely make it harder.
Here's a question for people who have actually encountered this. When I dual Imoen, I usually dual her right after she's gained level 7, in other words, as soon as possible to min/max her in BG1. This means she usually has ~40k xp. What happens if you dual her at level 7, but with, for instance, 60k? Does that make it impossible to get to level 8 mage in BG1?
No, the extra XP beyond what is required for current level is simply lost.
If I over-shoot, I soooooort of carry the EXP gained after gaining level 7 to Mage EXP... It's definitely cheese, because that's not how the engine does it, and if Arneson, Gygax, Moldvay, and all the others saw me do this, they'd probably rap me across the knuckles until the cows came home, because that's sure as hell now by the books.
Basically... Say Imoen is at, level 7, with ahh, 56327 EXP. I don't know, I usually boost her up to Magic-User right away, but let's just say. I'd pretty much dual her at 7 (duh), and then use a Keeper program to scoot that excess Thief Experience gained after level 7 (which would go to waste otherwise) into her Magic-User Experience. So it'd be 16327 Magic-User Experience. So she'd be at level 4/7. The way I justify it to myself, is "It'd be wasted, otherwise, and those basilisks ain't respawnin' anytime soon.". That, and it makes her less of a character that needs to be "carried and coddled" - she's in a group of six, with Experience gained going six ways (if not more, if you're like me and make multi-class characters), so she's going to be hit with an MMORPG Progress Crawl for a little while, while everybody else needs her to be picking locks and cutting trip-wires...
Not sure how it works in BG1 anymore, but you should be able to get at least a start on Imoen's levels by cutting down to just you and her in the party and then have her 'Learn' all of the spells you (hopefully) have hoarded in anticipation of that change. It should give you 'Some' XP boost. And if you are already at the gate, there should be XP a plenty to finish the level up to 8.

That, too. The EXP gained from scribing scrolls is in the double digits, but yes. It'll also make CHARNAME's own level a little meatier, and when you re-recruit your old friends, they'll be like "what!".
