Which class/kit is the strongest????
IN REAL LIFE!! :P
Excluding sorcerer, because this is very obvious. I already had a thread for that.
To elaborate, when you choose you're class, you get to pick your abilities, spells, skills, ect, but it's in real life so I imagine mages would have a hard time finding scrolls, and leveling up is an issue because there are so few actual monsters around here. And come to think of it, no gods to provide spells... What do you guys think? Can clerics cast? I guess that means no weave, too.. Yeah, I think they can cast, regardless.
Please specify which kit you think is best.

Never, ever, ever forget a thief!
And because I have already chosen the "Monk" class in real life, I'd opt for the Necromancer specialist then.
Plenty of ...ehm... material to train on.
Magic does not exist in our world. *Maybe* some people would consider that arguable, but I don't think most educated people would. The closest real life analogues, in my opinion, would be the hard sciences - chemistry, physics, medicine, engineering, etc.
Trying to think about this with regards to real life clerics could open up a huge can of worms about real life religion. There are many, many people, possibly even the majority of people, who believe that God is quite real. Some of those believe that God *does* grant "spells" in the form of what we call "miracles" in real life to certain special individuals, and always has. One word I can think of for an individual who performs miracles is "saint".
Many other people believe that prayers in real life, especially for healing, are effective and are actually granted by God.
I don't believe in any of it, not any more. After years of study, self-reflection, and meditation, I decided that real life religion isn't one bit more real than D&D religion, other than the fact that it is socially sanctioned and practiced by millions of people. But that's just me, and I try to stay sympathetic to people who are still religious believers, because I used to be one.
I think many police officers, soldiers, firefighters and other professionals who are frequently required to perform acts of heroism could qualify as real life "paladins", if they attribute their courage to some kind of religious faith.
As for the poll, if "powerful" means being effective at violence, then in most cases the only thing that matters is having melee skill of some kind, be it battle training, self-defense technique, athletic skill, or martial arts training. If the people who develop the technology of war, such as better guns, tanks, ships, planes, and nuclear weapons, are considered to be our "mages", then you could argue that they are the most powerful, but it's still the warriors and their masters who use and control what they create.
I'm sorry if I'm being too serious again. This is just how my mind works, and how I think. If a question or idea opens a chance to reflect on the human condition, my mind immediately goes there. I almost can't help it.
I feel like in real life a winning personality is one of the most important things, no matter what you do. Also I aspire to be a Renaissance Man, so bard is the class I most relate to.

All you people who say Garrick is useless, there you go! None would be better than him at real-life, which is kind of depressing when you think about it.
