Improve the way creatures are hidden by the fog of war

This has been bugging me for a long time, even before the Enhanced Editions came out. The fog of war hides creatures outside the visual range of party members. However, it is poorly implemented by the game engine. This is mostly apparent when dealing with large creatures as they are completely hidden by the fog of war as long as their center is hidden.

This behavior can be exploited, e.g. when dealing with monsters. Depending on the creature's combat scripts, the monster will not budge unless you're entering its visual range. This tactic works especially well for creatures with large selection circles, such as giants, golems or dragons, as there is more maneuvering room for the creature to move without the danger of entering the visual range of the party.

It would be more realistic to show creatures as soon as the edge of their selection circles are exposed by the party's visual range. At the same time the creature's visual range should be extended by the size of its selection circle.

This is a (rather extreme) example how the game engine currently handles creatures hidden by the fog of war:

Ahahahaha!!! I've never seen that before. Is it just me that tends to buff then charge blindly at the dragon? :D I find it more fun to play like that. :)
    But that is beautiful!
And I do agree entirely, I don't know if it's possible but it would be more realistic. The dragon is unlikely to sit there in peace while a party of munch-able snacks encircles it...
