Semiticgod, it doesn't matter that "PAUSE-BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH" is still only on one line, the problem is that now pausing creates a solid wall of text, and for people who pause frequently, it is a bit of an eye-sore.

    e.g. old 'Pause/Unpause':

    combat text, etc.
    PAUSE
    combat text, etc.
    combat text, etc.
    PAUSE
    combat text, etc.
    etc. etc.
    PAUSE

    Nasty new pause/date/time: :)

    combat text, etc.
    PAUSE/DATETIMEBLAH
    combat text, etc.
    combat text, etc.
    PAUSE/DATETIMEBLAH
    combat text, etc.
    PAUSE/DATETIMEBLAH

-the point is that it used to be clear to see an individual attack roll, but now it has become more of a block paragraph with the extra date/time info, and importantly, when in a battle the last thing we want to know is the month and damned weather forecast

If its in IWDEE and BG2EE it will likely be included in patch 1.4 for BGEE.

Is there talk of a 1.4? If so, I shall pray to Clangeddin this is fixed in it!

@owlbearhugger: So the problem is just that the text is shaped like a wall, with each line the same length? Why would it be an eyesore for a dialog in the dialog BOX to be shaped like a box? You could just as easily say the new way is prettier because the lines are a consistent length.

I don't like the look of the new text, either, but I don't think it's because the longer lines are necessarily uglier or more distracting. I think the old version just looks better because that's what we're used to.

Show the two versions to somebody who has never played the game, and I doubt they'd care about the difference at all.

As far as I know a BGEE 1.4 is planned.

It is much harder to see the combat text because the pause isn't just a PAUSE text anymore, It's an entire line. Look at one of my first posts and i have explained it.

The problem is that certain people, including me, have a really hard time playing with this. This isn't about you finding it to be alright and not seeing a problem, this is great for you. The problem is there for the people who aren't as fortunate, we would like to be able to disable it.

To put it simple, this is like a wall of text.

I attack you for 5 damage and i love it.
    PAUSE
I attack you for 5 damage and i love it.
    PAUSE
I attack you for 5 damage and i love it.
    PAUSE
I attack you for 5 damage and i love it.
    PAUSE

See how the pause makes it easier to read the above?

I attack you for 5 damage and i love it.
PAUSE: Spank that dwarven hooker! Do it!
I attack you for 5 damage and i love it.
PAUSE: Spank that dwarven hooker! Do it!
I attack you for 5 damage and i love it.
PAUSE: Spank that dwarven hooker! Do it!
I attack you for 5 damage and i love it.
PAUSE: Spank that dwarven hooker! Do it!
I attack you for 5 damage and i love it.
PAUSE: Spank that dwarven hooker! Do it!

Here we got a wall of text.
