Update: I have a hard copy of BGEE in my possession!
It comprises: 1 disc, 1 wall poster of the new characters suitable for a 12 year olds bedroom wall, 1 pamphlet with descriptions of the new characters, the usual licencing agreement, warranty etc. all referring to Koch Media (a German based company with a technical support address in the UK) and an Epilepsy Warning which informs me that I am taking my life in my hands when I foolishly play such a dangerous game!
However, I cannot yet verify that it runs as I'd forgotten that my CD drive had crashed and won't play any of my game discs!
@bengoshi, haven't you noticed that I'm the original Grumpy Old Man??? I've only just got a phone with a camera in it (and that was only because my old one died of old age)! I've taken one picture with it and somehow managed to download it to my PC (it was crap) so I can do that bit, now you want me to get a picture from my phone to my PC AND into a post on this board??? Give me a break!!!
I will try, God knows how, but I will try (don't hold your breath).
hmm... I dunno. Its cool, but I thought if they did a boxed version theyd go all out and do a collectors edition with loads of neat stuff... As it is, I dont think id buy this unless I saw it very cheap somewhere (well, I would buy it if I didnt have the digital versions).
NPC Character Cards (A5 like the Hero Cards of "Hero Quest" )
Fine Artwork and it will have a nice place for centuries and then get buried with me,...
Think about it new cool Artwork of @ll Characters Minsc, Boo, Edwin, Viconia,.. Stats on the Cards a bit/all of the Backstory and a special quote from the Character,... And everything except the new Artwork is already there. (not so much work)
Hmmm, I would definitely buy additional physical copies of the games if they'd include some physical goodies. Maybe Beamdog can publish a collectors edition with all games once all the games in the Infinity Family have been enhanced?
Long time player of BG/BG2/IWD, first time poster.
After many years away from the forgotten realms I have decided to get back into this amazing world. First up, I want to buy the EE of these games (I know I am stuck in my old ways, but would really love to have physical copies).
I was wondering if anyone can suggest potential game shops where Deep Silver sells BG1EE/BG2EE/IWDEE? I will be going to Germany in a few months for a holiday so if they are selling them in any game stores over there I would love to grab one while over there. Alternatively, is there any place on the internet where I can order a copy? I went on the Deep Silver website but couldn't see it there. Not sure if Amazon purchase ensures money goes to Beamdog? If it does, then these 3 links look like the best place:
Thank you all for your help. So happy to see BG/BG2 has such an active community.
edit; I forgot to ask about SOD, is the physical copy only available in the collector's edition? https://www.siegeofdragonspear.com/ Any word on a standard edition physical copy going on sale?
@Gorion88 I remember seeing BG:EE at Media Markt some time ago. Otherwise I would suspect Saturn would sell it as well. Maybe Pro Markt or Conrad as well.
Though I can't promise you either of these will still have these in stock
@Buttercheese Thank you so much! The city I am staying in Germany has a few Saturn and Media Markt stores and looking at their website I am seeing that they sell hard copies! Not sure if they would be in stock but I am feeling lucky. So exciting.
Be aware that the BGEE and BG2EE DVDs are pre 2.x and so far (as for as I know) there's no patch available.
Ah darn, I just assumed for some reason that if I have a copy of the physical hard copy, and if it was released at a certain version, beamdog or whichever site would host patches (I am thinking back to the old days pre EE when we had to download the latest patches before we could mod the games etc.) to allow us to upload to the latest version.
How does it work for updates for digital copies? If someone bought a digital copy of version 1.4, can't they update to 2.3?
They just press the update button and the game gets updated. But there's no patch file you can download. But even if there were such a file it would not work for the DVD installation.
So (as a DVD owner) to be able to buy and play SoD and instead of waiting for something that might never come I bought another BG1EE from Beamdog.

Darn, I have to say that's quite a drawback to buying the physical copy. Thanks for the info!

And by the way, if I was Beamdog, I would wait releasing it until BG is totally bugless. :P
But that's me being a perfectionist.
So, I decided to look at Amazon Canada for these delightful boxed packages and came across this -
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/offer-listing/B000GRUVO2/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
- and did not find these delightful Enhanced Edition boxed packages for sale.

So, next step, call Computer Repair Man!

EDIT: I've edited dunbar's post below so that we all can see: THEY DO EXIST!
I will try, God knows how, but I will try (don't hold your breath).
Where's bg2ee!?!
But Nonnahswriter, you already own the game digitally--
SILENCE.

Secondly, somewhat off topic, is there any word for IWD2EE? Latest I saw on it was: https://steamcommunity.com/app/321800/discussions/0/541906348048864160/ I have the original (just a matter of unearthing it from storage), but was curious if any updates on the EE front.
