This may have been changed from the original game, but...

The Glabrezu, Ogre Berserkers, Ettercap, Nishruu, and Efreeti that appear on the first floor of the guarded slave lords compound in the Temple District do not give exp when killed. In the original, they did.

The Glabrezu used to give 12,500 exp. Quite a chunk.

    They are supposed to be summoned creatures. The idea is that the mage upstairs is summoning a mob on you from afar, and, since summons don't give experience, this is not an issue.
