[not an issue]Tiax cant be recruited

Hello everyone...

Just went to BG to recruit Tiax but somehow he wont speak to me o.O

Anyone got an idea why? I got an evil party with bad reputation and i dont know what to do :/

    Is it possible that you or Tiax has been Silenced?

    Reputation shouldn't be a factor, I was able to speak to him with a maximum reputation party.

    nope not silenced. i dont know what to do. he is just standing there and no chatbox opens when i wanna talk to him.... drives me nuts.... i need a thf!!!

    Okay if you think it's a bug, I can move this to the bug reporting section. Just upload your save and somebody clever will take a look at it. :smile:

    You should find it in My Documents.

    Tiax's initial dialogue has three possibilities:

    "Friendly" reaction (high rep and/or high Charisma talker): "Glorious Cyric has foretold of our meeting when thou wouldst join with me..."
    Neutral reaction: "Thou wouldst presume to speak to Tiax the Great?..."
    Hostile reaction: "Tiax the Grand has no time for your impudent prittle-prattle."

    Oddly enough, despite being evil, this means Tiax won't join you if you have low rep (unless you have blazingly high Charisma to compensate).

    There's a component of BG2 Tweaks to fix this, or you can just use Crtl+Q to force Tiax to join the party.

    I'm not sure what the problem was... but I was able to recruit Tiax with Ctrl+Q as @AstroBryGuy suggested.

    Here is the link explaining how to enable console commands if you haven't done it already. It's pretty simple and will provide a quick fix here if you just want to continue with your game asap.

    Did you boost it in a save prior to talking to Tiax? All of Tiax's initial dialog states have a NumTimesTalkedTo(0) trigger (except the STATE_CHARMED check). So, if you boost it after you talk to him, he still won't join you.

    Also, what is your CHARNAME's Charisma? It affects reaction rolls too.

    Reaction roll = (random number from 8-12) + CHA modifier + REP modifier

    Reaction < 8 = Hostile
    Reaction 8-14 = Neutral
    Reaction > 14 = Friendly

    Got it! thx guys i did it with that Ctrl+Q thing. didnt know that was possible :)

    The number between 8-12 is always 10. :)
