Yeah..all the apps you mentioned @walaakoid arent working ...you sould get a refund we probably have to wait until android gets updated..its really pathetic..i mean..a lot of games out there had display issue but generally they were fixed in a week a two maximum.
Shadowrun Returns also no longer works on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S on lollipop. It seems like the issue is that anything on the 5.0.x branch of android that has Samsung's Exynos chips in it no longer work with a ton of games.
We're currently testing a fix for this issue, and it's looking promising, but we're doing our due diligence to make sure that the fix doesn't break something else.
So far no regressions, so keep your fingers crossed.

Couldn't hurt. I find that crossing my eyes stops being helpful when I try to do anything more than a few inches away from my face, though, so I'd stick to digits.
I feel extremely bad for you guys who've been waiting months for a fix when i'd just bought the games a few days back and discovered the bad news. I can completely understand everyone's frustrations and wanting refunds though. I'd feel the same way =/ ...to those still clinging to hope, my hats off to you!
i appreciate the update, dee. to pauleywogs, i played the game in my pc back when i was still in highschool, great game, and now in my 30's, i can say that this is a notch higher than most games which rely heavily on eye candy. i've had my share of wonder, and memorable characters and epic moments. i really hope beamdog resolves the graphical issue soon. this is a legendary game, and to have it played on any person's portable gadget relives some of life's most exciting moments. one more reason i'm hoping this game gets fixed is to prove to my kids that classics never die.
Honestly, I'd be more irked if this was just a beamdog issue, but ever since the update to lollipop, I haven't been able to play any of my games on my Tab S. Samsung royally screwed the pooch on this rollout and then just left us hanging with no way to roll back to KitKat. All these games work fine on lollipop on both my phone (Nexus 6) and my other tablet (Nexus 7). Although the latter has serious performance issues on lollipop now, it still runs BG:EE.

Wow, that's pretty close to my experience with the games as well. Played in my teens and the game never left me since. Funny thing though is I actually played SoA (since someone had bought it for me) before the first and i was hooked. Didn't actually play the 1st BG or IWD until years later. Great memories as well, spending hours upon hours figuring out my favorite parties and fighting styles, endless fun that never got old. I hope my daughter grows up to be a gamer as I'd love to share this treasure with her one day as well ..though I currently own the enhanced versions on steam, it would be extremely convenient to play on android as I'm away from my pc for the moment.
ETA's are difficult to provide when it comes to code changes like this. You might spend weeks testing before you find an issue that sends you back to square one.
That's why you won't see us say "This week" or "This month" or "Sometime in the next few days", even if that's our hope. We did that in the past, and it always (always) ended up biting us back.

Has this happenned in the past? Will we still have to wait till the next Samsung update even if it were fixed now??

@Dee probably refers to the launch of BG(2):ee (for Android?). There were some etas given back then and people got angry when they weren't met.
i thought it was the android lollipop update that ruined this application? BG2-ee was running perfectly in 4.4.2 kitkat with my samsung tab s (LTE, 8.4 variant), and after a single update to 5.0.2 lollipop, surprise surprise, the dreaded black screen happened..
That's why I don't place any blame on Beamdog. Yes we all wish it would get fixed faster, but it's been stated they are being very careful not to break anything while fixing Samsung's mess. Samsung did this...
..i guess it's useless to send any info to samsung anymore..wow..this is the flagship tablet of samsung, a tablet good enough for gaming..the 5.1 lollipop update isn't even coming soon, i mean, i know some people who own tab S and still run on kitkat 4.4.2..they can FRIGGIN' run balfur's gate 2, how crazy is that?! why should i suffer an application error for simply getting an update, it's not fair. anyway, i hope a fix comes soon.....
This is such a mutha fkin joke. I literally wanna take a samsung and a beamdog employee right now and slap em both at the same time with the same glove. This is rediculous on so many levels.....
From what I understand (and I'm not a programmer, so take this with a grain of salt), the lollipop update added something that changed the way the tablet's graphics are handled--I want to say it upgraded the OpenGL version, but, again, I'm not a programmer.
The way that Android works is the application sends a version of the game specific to the device's hardware/software specs. The Samsung Tab S's hardware needs a specific version of the game, but lollipop sends a different request--so the application that gets installed is the version requested based on software but not hardware.
So in one sense it's Samsung's "fault", in that they changed the software in a way that changed its specs in a way that the application wasn't expecting. It's not something Samsung can fix, though, because it's intrinsic to how lollipop works. So it's Beamdog's responsibility to fix it (which is why that's exactly what we're doing now).

beamdog, i hope you can update us about any fix or patch that you're been working on..
i still have hope for this app to work
Should I also cross my toes for good measure?

basically a "see no evil' response...
