@Deltago Maple Leafs have a long way to go,even with high draft picks they seem to struggle,to succeed in NHL you need a great goalie i think and build it from there.Thats why i left Toronto and moved to Montreal as a fan.
I know a few, I live about four hours from Toronto.
*shrugs* I just hope the best for them. Just like when the wings went through decades of shit, it feels really good when you finally climb out and win.
Toronto is my team in some ways, but I always liked the Penguins since I was pretty young, when Super Mario was on ice. So yeah, rough time for me. Penguins seem to be suffering from losing Staal awhile back, meaning the other two star centers have vastly more hassles to deal with. With 3 solid scoring centers, its really hard to manage them, and both Crosby and Malkin could shine.
Regarding Toronto, thats a team that has managed to play insultingly beneath it's potential. They've thrown away several top goalies, either in dumb trades or by just whining every time they have a bad game. Toronto has no faith in their goalies, meaning young goalies with lots of potential have been wasted. The big problem has always been imho that Toronto has bigger issues with defencemen, and sometimes forwards leaving their goalies to deal with terrible situations. People actually complained about Toronto's goal production when it was among the best in the league! They do need more goals in some specific games, but they really needed to NOT GET SCORED ON. You can lead the league in total goals and still suck; Perhaps the real issue is that the management cares more about 'exciting' games vs winning. Boring teams are ultimately bad for the game, the NHL is still recovering from those Cups won by New Jersey and its trap, but a team in the best market in the league can afford to be a tad more boring (ie SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE GOALIE TRY PLAYING DEFENSIVELY MAYBE?!?).
Ugh, Toronto has grown even more toxic than Montreal... Toronto may love the Leafs, but fans overanalyse and are extraordinarily harsh. Now, some of this is justified (...remember when Toronto ran the Retirement Home For Former Top Level Players Who Now Belong On The 3rd Line, and paid exorbitant amounts to not win cups?), but no team was hit anywhere near as hard as Toronto by the Salary Cap, and the team has been garbage since then.
Wild threw that game away by basically taking the first period off. They don't play well unless they are facing adversity. It will probably (unfortunately) do them in. I don't understand how they can come out flat in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The 6-1 drubbing they took from St. Louis should have been enough of a wake-up call.
Sure they got back in it and tied the game at 3-3, but you are expending all that energy and effort just getting back to even. You can't win a playoff game going down 3 in the first period.
Tampa Bay - Montreal Canadiens 6-2 ( Canadiens hit rock bottom, can they dig out of this mess? ) Minnesota - Chicago 1-4 ( Wild are fighting hard, but doesn't get rewarded just yet ) Calgary - Anaheim 0-3 ( Come on Flames, more pucks on net )
Minnesota - Chicago 0-1 ( Vanek needs to wake up,he looked like a mummie in clue out there ) Anaheim - Calgary 3-4 ( Flames, first canadien team to bounce back,Johnny Gaudreau deserves a trophy this year )

Chicago Blackhawks - Minnesota Wild 4-3 (exiting game from start to finish)

The undisciplined play has caught up to them. Priest didn't do them any favours either.
