@bob_veng Think you could add a more yellow-ish discoloration to the teeth and grace him with actual eyebrows? Both minor details would further improve Dorn's face quite a bit. Red hair and/or eyes may also help to introduce more contrast to the portrait.
i don't think it would look correct to add red hair and eyebrows. reddish eyes and yellower teeth are very slight changes that would hardly even be visible to most people (tried it). but you're right about the need for even more color, i just don't know where to add it.
Only other thing I can think of is changing the color of his earrings. Either golden or silver should do the trick. Or perhaps adding blood splatters here or there.
Much better, the red tint was really needed to make all the little details more visible. With this color palette he might even look good with copper earrings.
Some portraits from Neverwinter Nights(I was never a huge fan of the 'off center' or 'full body' portraits, I prefer the 'bust' type portraits) (this one looks a bit like the default male Shepard from Mass Effect) (Christopher Walken Vampire)
Unfortunately, my shooping skills are on pair with a loofa-faced cheetos-gibbon, so I was hoping some of the very talented artists in this thread would grab Dromfbonn by the pixels an' give 'im the tender care and lurving he deserves.
Remaining to be done; 1. Kill of sharp cut and paste edges 2. Colorsmooth the forehead to match the rest of the face 3. Better smooth in the top of the nose into the forehead 4. Add more orange 5. Put him in a leather jacket 6. And, of course, stylize him into the more cartoonish BG style
Naturally, these are just suggestion. If a kind soul feel so inclined as to take on the challenge, I will be happy with whatever alternative improvements he or she might have.

Would anyone be interested in baldurizing this portrait (I think it's from NWN, and thus by the same guy who did the BG portraits)? It looks almost fitting for BG but not quite and could use some adjustments to the colors and contrast to really make it fit in:

ANYWAY you need to crop the picture, since a L picture is 110x170 pixels... and the more background you include, the smaller the rest. Now, I did not upload a cropped image, or even upload anything at all, I only linked it. Since that cropping and reuploading brakes copyright laws... I think?
But cropping is easy! Just download paint.net, crop the section you want, with more sideways than you think you need, resize and set height to 185-ish, make a new image and set size to 110 x 170, paste your crop and move it around until it captures what you want. Then for the small size 38x60, crop the head and repeat what you just did for the large image.
So, if the floating insect bugs you, just not include it! Yeesh!
I'm currently playing a female paladin, so I photoshopped different NWN pics into this one because this is how I picture a female character who's got Str 18 .
