The reason that I chose that image is that he has black robes and black robed characters are not very common.
According to Divine Re-mix- AUTHLIM OF IYACHTU XVIM: His priests favour black robes trimmed with dark green. That means that all I had to do to get an accurate image of an Authlim of Iyachtu Xvim was to add the green trimmings.
Pure laziness on my part.
@AstroBryGuy If you scroll down on that page, you will find the one that I have selected.
@lolien Thank You. You are obviously far more experienced in doing Google Reverse Image Searches than I am. That isn't too difficult as I only started doing it last week!
So giving full credit to Clyde Caldwell, here are my portraits of an Authlim of Iyachtu Xvim together with a link to his original. The small portrait is a little blurred in this post but when playing the game it looks fine. Having been pointed in the direction of Clyde Caldwell, I have found a number of paintings that will be ideal for BG portraits. Some of them have been used already by others.
I'm thinking that the resolution of the image that Iolien has found is superior to the one that I did, so perhaps I should start again.
Thanks for the info. Since I had never heard of either of them, I was not aware of that. Outside of the Bioware games, I have no knowlege of Faerun.
Raistlin is Dragonlance. I wish I'd scrolled down when I first followed your link. I could have told you it was Caldwell without a search. He's one of my favorite D&D artists and has a distinctive style. He's done covers for a number of D&D modules, Dragon Magazine issues and fantasy novels. I've probably got more Caldwell paintings on my bookshelves than any other artist.
@BillyYank As a resultof your post I did a search on Dragonlance images. I noticed that here is a lot of work there that has already been utilised in portrait packs. I also noticed that a lot of images have been recycled by putting an existing image into another setting, much as I would do if making my own portraits, one of the Laurana Kanan images being just a mirror image. That, I think that is just a little lazy, copying and adding your own background I can understand. It saves a considerable amount of time to do that, whilst making the artwork personal. Mirror imaging adds nothing. Sadly few of the images are of high enough resolution to use for making a close-up portrait.
This guy Tomasz Chistowski (http://takeda11.deviantart.com/) made the best BG art I've ever seen. Beamdog should pay him to do official stuff, I know I would.

You're welcome. In case you were curious, Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander is from Terry Goodkind's "The Sword of Truth" novels (no connection to the Forgotten Realms). The images are from a short-lived TV show based on the novels.
Could someone edit out the horns from this portrait? The pic was made by Isandir for the Sirene NPC mod but I'd like to use it for my paladin.
Also, does anyone have a zip or something of AfroShero/ftg386/mileah's portraits? Her Rey and Yoshimo portraits were nice so I'm interested in seeing what else she made.

Probably others could do it much better, but here is my effort. I think that the artwork is from @Isandir and the portrait is from the excellent mod Sirene. @coffin_nailer I have removed the image until I have the permission of Isandir.
I'm afraid that I can't get it any better than this. I am no expert. However in-game it might be fine. At this scale any imperfection shows. @coffin_nailer I have removed the image until I have the permission of Isandir.

That art is awesome, I especially love the Jaheira painting! Thank you for sharing this, I've been looking for years a good picture to use as a custom portrait for Jaheira and nothing I tried felt right so far. Now I finally have the perfect portrait for her. I thought others would like to use it too, so I'm posting it here.
I couldn't resist coloring it to make the portrait. I hope this isn't disrespectful to the artist, I had mixed feelings about modifying his beautiful work.
EDIT: I removed the images while I ask the artist for permission to share these modifications of his works, sorry about this.
EDIT2: I asked the artist and he approved the colored portraits to be shared in this forum, yay!, so I'm posting the images with the artist's permission.
Here's Jaheira:
A happier looking version and without scars, which I made for BG1:
And here's colored as a drow, to use in the Underdark:
Very nice @Krugos ! There is no problem making alterations as long as you name the original artist . In fact, preventing people from using their own creativity on a person's art would just decrease an artist's reputation, after all, art is supposed to be about freedom , isn't it?

Uh, no. Not even remotely. There is a huge difference between sharing someone's work and between redistributing modified versions of it. @Krugos I very much hope you asked the artist for permission first.

I'm all for freedom in arts and wouldn't mind if someone did this to my works as long as they gave me credit, but I guess I agree with Buttercheese, so I'll ask for the artist's permission.

I agree, I removed the images while I ask the artist permission to share them, I should have done that before posting them.
It was the right thing to do, so I'm glad you pointed it out. The artist was very kind and approved the portraits being shared here, so I'll edit my previous post again to put the images back.
You don't need to put in the actual message from the artist, an note saying something along the lines of "Posted with the original artist's permission." Is more than enough.

True, but it is nice to share pleasant messages like that one. It makes the web a more pleasant place.

Yes, that's what I posted with the images in the edited original message. I just wanted to share the artist was happy about his art being used by players as custom portraits.
It was indeed sweet to see how an artist supports a user. Thanks for sharing. As for privacy of correspondence, I wish there was one unified approach to this, as not long ago an artist on devianart posted correspondence with one of our users.

@lolien - I'm confused. Why are you linking to a picture of Raistlin?

I have redone the small portrait and it is certainly better.
And here is the Large portrait as well. This one however is much the same.

@coffin_nailer I have removed the image until I have the permission of Isandir.
So it was more or less something like this:
