Hello everyone, I am used to the original baldurs gate 1 how different is the enhanced editions because i do wish to play that amazing game again and its sequel.

The EE version uses an improved version of the BG 2 engine with faster loading, zoom, faster saves, native suport for high resolution, updated to run in modern OSs, etc.
So you get support for kits in BG 1, for instance, Also many mods now can treat BG 1 and BG 2 the same, the Tweak Pack for instance.
All the EE games run on a more modern engine still based on the IE concepts.
The BGEE / BG2EE / IWDEE engine versions slightly differ from each other, the general patches for these EE games were not exactly released at the same time.
BG2EE is BG2 SoA + ToB + 4 new NPCs + new kits and the new Black Pits 2 (a separate challenge)
BGEE is BG1 + TotSC using a BG2-like setup (kits, magic) + 3 of the new NPCs you can also play in BG2EE + the new Black Pits (a separate arena).
IWDEE (IWD + HoW + TotL) includes several modifications and also feels like IWD on a BG2-like engine.
Don't forget, the EEs lead to the upcoming all new expansion, Siege of Dragonspear, which you won't be able to play with the originals!
The enhanced editions really do spoil us! All the wonderful features of Baldurs Gate II, are implemented into BG1 (Dual wielding, extra spells, new weapon types, additional classes and kits!) Even if the enhanced editions interface and new features dont interest you, the new NPCs are interesting, I especially liked Neera. The NPCs all come with their own questlines and new unlock exclusive map areas.
As others have mentioned, you now have a zoom option, and are able to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel (no more fiddling about with the resolution in the game menus!)
One cool feature that has not been plugged yet is the quick loot bar, rather than clicking each corpse individually to see what they have dropped, there is now quick bar that will display every dropped item within a xx foot radius around the character, which is a great time saver!
Walking speed was increased, albeit slightly.
Potions, arrows and other items now all stack in much greater numbers.
Spell scrolls are now highlighted in different colours (Much in the same way unidentified items are highlighted blue), when being examined by a mage. Scrolls that you can use, and are not yet in your scroll book will be highlighted green, scrolls you cannot use (i.e opposing magic schools) are highlighted red, whilst spells that 'are' in your spell book are not highlighted at all. This is only a small update, but it makes things so much easier to keep track of.
