Quayle and necromancy spells

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
So I noticed in the bug section that it is listed as a bug that Quayle has 2 necromancy spells in his spellbook.

What is the evidence that this isn't WAI? I always thought that his class combination and consequent ability to use priest spells from the necromancy sphere lead to him researching the necromancy spells.

What do you think?

    I haven't even tried to make it logical, there are so many things like that in BG (and he has them in vanilla). I mean, there's Coran and stuff like that. I think that making rules and then breaking them due to oversight or intention is what gives Baldur's Gate a bit of it's character.

    Illusionist can't learn necromancy spells as per the specialist wizards restrictions.

    In the original BG2, Jaheira and Viconia used to be able to cast Zone of Sweet Air (not a Druid spell) and Holy Smite (not available for Evil Clerics), respectively.

    Considering that that's been corrected in the EEs, Quayle should probably get the same treatment.

    Jaheira and Viconia in their EE versions simply were not smart enough. But Quayle... it's another story!

    Whether you want Quayle to have the spells or not is really a law vs. chaos thing; you either believe he should because it's what makes him an individual (and they're useful) or you believe he shouldn't because he is an illusionist. It's a deep, morally ambiguous question!
