Thanks for the replies, for some reason it was third time lucky and it appears to be working this time round. No idea what the problem was, since I didn't do anything different from the 2nd attempt.
This is a long shot, but when i install EET with BWS and not (to my knowledge) choosing any exp-gain-altering component, i get no exp from removing traps and opening locks. Does anyone know how to fix this?
@Maick90 - Please run a WeiDU changelog on xpbonus.2da (the file that defines how much XP you get for disarming traps, picking locks or learning spells) to see if any mods changed it:
1. Press Windows key + R key 2. Type 'cmd' in the box and hit Enter 3. Type 'cd' followed by a space followed by the full path to your BG2EE/EET game folder and hit Enter 4. Type the letter at the beginning of the path followed by ':' and hit Enter 5. Type 'weidu.exe --log nul --change-log xpbonus.2da' and hit Enter
Example:
cd E:\GOG\BG2EE E: weidu.exe --log nul --change-log xpbonus.2da
Ok i had to sign up just to get an answer for my question.
Iv'e been using BWS for quite some time. Usually for BGT. But now with EET iv'e noticed that some mods get installed into the Baldur's gate 1 enhanced edition folder. Is that how it's supposed to be?
I mean, with BGT everything got moved to the BG2 folder. So am I missing something or have i missed a F.A.Q somewhere on the main site?
EET imports content from BG1EE, but some mods haven't been coded to be compatible with EET yet, however EET is able to import certain BG1EE mods into BG2EE if they are installed already on BG1EE before the EET import/conversion process. There's a list here of which mods go before and which go after EET.
First, thanks for the fast reply! Been skulking to long here so know the community without knowing them (wierd right!?) Second, seems i messed up with a few dependencies with BG1NPC's (Can't bother with BG 1 without that one anymore).
Ouch, that'd be a problem. Im one of those trial and error fanatics. Uninstall everything, backtrack every step to se which options would be best. But i do remember having errors with aTweaks (I think, not really sure about this one in particular. Will see tomorrow when i finish a new install of BWS) TDD, TDDz and NTotSc. Thought i fixed them although Bg1npc's never got installed this time. Anyways i'll update when it's done tomorrow either if it's thumbs up or thumbs down and if the latter i'll try to save the log for you.
Hey, thought I'd report a couple of bugs (unless they're features, then just ignore me!) that I've come across.
P.S. this is with the recommended install option.
1. Montaron is level 13 with 0 exp, next level @ 88k experience points. 2. The girdle of masculinity/femininity permanently changes my character's gender; removing curse at a temple will restore the avatar (e.g. from female avatar to male avatar) but the character record sheet will still display female. I was able to solve this by changing my gender back to male in EE Keeper, though I have no idea if this has just destroyed any potential romances added by the other mods.
Having your gender very temporarily changed like that is unlikely to harm any romantic prospects. Montaron at level 13 might be due to the ToB-Style NPCs component of Tweaks Anthology, if you installed that? We just had a report yesterday (?) that that tweak isn't working correctly for EET (giving ToB-starting-level experience to BG1 creatures).

Took me like 30 ingame days to change it back lol, so I hope it doesn't. Everyone's stopped referring to me as 'My Lady...' and 'she' now so seems ok! Haha.
Thank you for the reply though, is there anything I can do to correct the TOB bug, short of uninstalling the mod and restarting the game?
You can use EEKeeper or Near Infinity to modify the NPC's level and experience in your saved game. The problem is (presumably) that the NPC was tweaked to start with an excessive amount of experience, but once you've met the NPC, it will be gaining further experience at the usual rate. Of course you can also roleplay that the NPC is highly experienced but also more than a little bit insane, and therefore balanced by a tendency to rush into battle with his eyes closed (or some other silly thing you decide to have him do to make the game more challenging / fun). Just expect other joinable NPCs you meet will be similarly over-experienced. You also can consider raising the difficulty level for this game as a way to compensate.

Thanks for the reply! I did like you instructed and "mods affecting xpbonus.2da:" is followed by nothing. So I guess there is nothing affecting the exp?
@Maick90 - Do you have an xpbonus.2da file in your override folder? If yes, you can delete it to reset to BG2EE standard XP rules for traps, spell learning and pickpocketing. But I'd suggest leaving it alone while playing the BG1 campaign as the amount of XP given in the BG2EE default table is much higher.

I realized that the problem is, that it matters which character opens the lock etc. A character at level cap opening the lock doesn't give any xp to anyone, but a lower lever character doing it does give xp. What component might be causing this? It's a difficult question to answer because of the huge number of components, but i can't find it.
EET itself changes xpbonus.2da (reducing the bonuses for early levels) since with EET you are playing the entire trilogy using the same rules table. I'm not sure why it doesn't show up in the change log however.

I deleted the xpbonus.2da file from the override of BG2 folder. It did change the scaling of the amount of xp rewarded, but it still doesn't grant any xp if a level capped character does the unlocking. It is silly playing with a 50lvl character over and over again but it would be nice it it could still grant the xp for the other characters in the party when doing things.
agb1 That is true, it's just that in the base game that's how it used to work. Though it still seems to share the xp of doing those things to the entire party when of lower level.
I'm pretty sure it's both. Just like the killed enemies xp, the lock/trap/spell xp is spread over to the whole party. I can live with it however Thank you for helping me!
As an experiment, you could try changing the engine_mode in engine.lua (in the game folder). 0 = BGEE, 1 = BG2EE, 2 = IWDEE. Remember to change it back after your test, though - you should keep it at 1 for EET.
If I understand correctly, your group has a lvl 50 character and you don't get any exp for others when he opens locks? I wouldn't be surprised if this was vanilla behaviour.

Before EET i played Enhanced Editions BG1 and BG2, modded with basically Gibberlings Tweak Pack only. Even with the maxed out characer, the xp was rewarded for doing those things and shared with the party. In both BG1:EE and BG2:EE. To agb1, i'll try it at some point.
EDIT: agb1, i'm not sure what to do with the engine.lua. I changed it 1 to 0 and vice versa in both the BG1 and BG2 main folders of the EET installation. I did some quick tests and it didn't seem to do anything.

Thank you for the reply though, is there anything I can do to correct the TOB bug, short of uninstalling the mod and restarting the game?
thanks!
I did like you instructed and "mods affecting xpbonus.2da:" is followed by nothing. So I guess there is nothing affecting the exp?
That is true, it's just that in the base game that's how it used to work. Though it still seems to share the xp of doing those things to the entire party when of lower level.
EDIT: agb1, i'm not sure what to do with the engine.lua. I changed it 1 to 0 and vice versa in both the BG1 and BG2 main folders of the EET installation. I did some quick tests and it didn't seem to do anything.
