items from bgee not transferring to sod

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
Just finished my install of sod and now i try to import my character from bg1ee and my character is completely naked with no items. what gives

    With my final saves, that only happens for the dead characters in the party. Everyone else is full of items.

    Try loading (not importing) your final save from BG1.

    I was having some problems importing my saves as well, naked characters, scripts broken, containers disappeared, etc. Loading my final save from BG 1 and allowing the game to do the transition to SoD solved everything so far.
