Expressing Our Support

IllustairIllustair Member Posts: 878
I'm actually a bit tight on my schedule right now, but with the recent uproar and move that EFFECTIVELY downplays EVERYTHING SoD has to offer over what seemed to be a few lines (politically motivated or not, inappropriate or not, inconsistent with the game or not, forced or not), I would like to make it known to Beamdog that I'm expressing my support by buying the game later today. I initially intended to buy the game when RL loosens up, but no, not anymore, I will buy the game today.

That's all the support I can give right now. If I can manage to squeeze in some time to play, and I do happen to like it, I will post a positive review.

I hope others can pledge their support too in whatever way they can. Please don't feel discouraged at all with this hiccup, Beamdog. I really enjoyed BP2, and I'm sure I will enjoy SoD even more; after all, Chris Avellone himself was very pleased with the game, particularly with the story, I'm positive I will too.

Edit: Just to be clear, I'm moving on from arguing to playing. Let's move on.

I wasn't able to buy the game, since my gf thought she could give it as a birthday surprise...won't be a surprise anymore now would it? I know the game will surprise me with its AWESOMENESS anyway! ( The truth is, it was I who asked her. Who cares about material things when you can have BG, right? ;) )

The thing is..I don't know how she can send it as a gift to me. Can anyone help me?

As a side note, I even made a schedule so I can play 1-2hrs a day...damn that will take me forever to complete the game! 1 month for my own review :/

If you are buying it on Steam, all she needs is the email associated with your account and she can just select the "purchase as a gift" option. I think GoG works in a similar way.

Happy gaming, SoD is a lot of fun.

There was a lot more than just some people stirring up drama which caused a lot of people to be turned off from the DLC you know.
Please don't immediately believe everything you read online, try reading from a variety of sources so that you can better understand the situation before making comments like these.

Oh no, no, I've read alright...and can we just agree to disagree? I've grown tired with all the drama really. I already said enough from my side, and I realized that to continue arguing is a complete waste of time, we have completely different views! I will be blunt this time though, I find the other side to be thin-skinned! Others, even crybabies. I might get warned this time, so be it. That's all the insult that can be taken from me anyway, so there won't be another one. Now get off this thread. I've had enough with the Irony Crisis. I'm moving on now as I think we all should. I will play the game and have fun. Others can continue crying if they want to, not my loss. Now as to the gift...

Ask for a Steam key through support@beamdog.com (see https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/50138/requesting-steam-keys#latest) It may take several days due to the number of these requests, but they'll give you it in the end ;)
