My biggest problem with this is that it hurts the BG2 experience

Nobody said it was SoD's problem. Just an off-topic discussion about a possible BG3.

My bad. Thought he was pointing out that we had strayed off topic or something. Which we kind of did, and it was arguably my fault.

... and men viewed a responsibility to take care of the children they abounded as an attack on their masculinity rather than.. just taking care of an innocent child that did choose to be born or who their parents are. (two mentalities we still see today, though morphed and changed with the times)

The flip side of that is that men don't even have reproductive rights, and the courts overwhelmingly favor the mother when it comes to awarding cash and prizes money for the poor children.

What i Like about original BG writing is that it is psychologically realistic given the medieval world the characters live in. Also Viconia is evil at the end of a day. The fact she helps charname to beat sarevok does not change her priorities. And it is clearly visible when we meet her in BG2. She doesn't recognise us at first since she didn't care that much before apparently. However being about to be burnt down she obviously seems more attached to the memories while she discovers who the charname is. She just uses us to survive (again).

@Rawgrim Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure future d&d games from Beamdog are going to have to be 5th edition due to their licensing with WoTC (they might even have to take place in the current realms i.e. post Spellplague). I'll miss 2.0 - 3.5 as much as the next guy, though.

Pray it's not. PRAY. We all saw how well that went over...

5th ed is so bad. If 4th ed was what killed D&D, then 5th pissed on its grave.
