Peril protections by divine spellcasters in BG

I wanted to get an overview of what my divine casters can actually do for me in terms of negations of, and protections from, various ill effects.
I decided to trot through the spell books of my high level cleric and druid and jot down their abilities in a spread sheet.
Here's the result:

I know it's totally feasible simply to rely on protection from magic potions and scrolls in the tougher fights. I'm just starting to feel that these items are too good. They protect against basically everything magical and don't leave much tactical thinking about when to apply what protections.
That's why I'm starting to look into these more specific 'corner case' spells.
Basically, your cleric or druid can be protected more or less from anything except for spells taking down your protections (and this is their weakness).
There's the rub.
Yes, if you have played the campaign a number of times you can be essentially forewarned when to prep for what may befall you but no game is created for that purpose ( well, maybe Dark Souls....)
Frenzy of battle and fog of war can become a greater hindrance to success than the actual confrontation.
All spells have time limits and they also have casting times.
If you have inclination to be true to the campaign and treat each confrontation as a first time experience, buffing yourself in advance takes away the spirit of the game, I contend.
How you resolve the confrontation with even the semblance of naivety is what makes the pulse rush and the conquest that more rewarding.
You can always 25 all your stats using EEKeeper if ya want to take the challenge out completely.
I suggest by chapter 2 you would probably re-start though.
For those of us whom have played this game more often than we have cleaned our ovens, it can be trying developing situations in which we are still surprised.
Still fun though....
