I honestly can't tell whether you're trying to understand or trying to prove something.
Both, actually. @FinneousPJ said that this concept had been explained already. I was trying to prove that nothing had been explained, at least not in a way that I could understand. In doing so I was hoping that someone would actually explain it. That someone has been you. Kudos to you.
The fact that end of round doesn't mean the end of a round is the source of all the confusion. I'm glad that has been clarified. I was basing all I was saying on the (quite understandable) assumption that the end of round autopause happens at the end of a round. Looks like that is not the case, but nobody had said that clearly before.
While I'm so glad that this has been clarified, I am also a bit disappointed that I needed to insist so much to get that clarification. I mean, as far as I'm concerned, this is the best game ever, and the EE has made the best game ever even better. But that doesn't mean that it's perfect, no game is and no game will ever be. This autopause confusion is a flaw in the game. That doesn't detract from the great work that Bioware did back in the day and the great work Beamdog is doing now. However, that great work would be greater if they were a bit less reluctant to acknowledge flaws.
Now that this is clear (at least for me), I'd say it's time to find a solution to the problem. I'd say that renaming that autopause option would prevent any further confusion. "Action completed" autopause sounds good to me.

The matter is resolved so I'm closing the thread.
