I'll tell you what this needs to be ! Is that the creators of this script obviously need to hear this side of the story - what they are not aware of. Because what I had to go through because of gay activity LAYS LOW , like Smaug against the dwarves. I have nothing against what gay people do in their own world, and they have their time and place for that, but not when It comes to where their deeds can be exposed for the shame of what happened to others. Write a bio about people or parents who got murrderd or suicide, see how that affects someone? Write about sexual abuse or gay activity which can be related to sexual abuse, see how that effects someone?

Your story is sad and it saddens me, but you must understand what you went through with that gay rapist was due to the "rapist" part infinitely more than to the "gay" part. A straight rapist is as wrong as a gay one, because the immoral part is being a rapist, either gay or straight. Yet I don't see anyone complaining about hetero couples kissing in the street or in clubs. You were affected by the activities of a rapist, that was incidentally gay, but his primary feat was being a rapist. Gay people do not jump on everyone of their sex, just like straight people do not jump on everyone of the opposed sex. Besides, the "I have a very good gay friend so I'm not homophobic" or whatever you tried to pull up is not an argument. Actually this is one we very much laugh about in France, as one of our "beloved" politicians who's very used to shocking and blatantly racist declarations once said "I'm not racist, I have a very good Kenyan friend, even blacker than an arab." Actually it's more an argument to prove how stupid racism -or in our case, homophoby- is in the first place, as being gay or black or from whatever minority there is in our western countries does not make one intrinsically worse. As for your whole biblical argument, not all of us follow the Bible. I don't, for one, though I try to follow its moral code concerning generosity, ability to forgive, etc... because I feel like they are right on this point. Though this is not the place for this debate, so if you will continue it I'll gladly defend my stance using private messages. I'd like to mention that homosexuality or bisexuality always have been a thing, at all times, and thus is not out of place in a medieval/Renaissance setup, which is what the Forgotten Realms are, along with some magic. The estimations concerning the share of homosexual in our world vary from 2 to 7%, so crossing the road of an homosexual is something we certainly do daily. Not particularly shocking that you should meet a few of them. Now as for the transgender, well, the possibility of changing sex is still recent and progressing in our world, which does not mean no one used to wish for sex change when it was not possible. And the Forgotten Realms are a world of magic which means such "treatments" were possible (evidence being the belt of masculinity/feminity from the ORIGINAL game). The implementation was clumsy, I certainly give its detractors that, but the character in itself, as a transgender is not necessarily out of place.
I am a proud white cis straight man. But I am not that because I feel I am better than anyone. I just think I can be as proud of my identity as anyone. I'd not try gay experiences and won't change sex because I do not feel like it, but I respect those who do, as much as I respect myself. And know that, by denying the right of others to do what you think you can do because of their belonging to whatever minority, not only do you not respect them, but you do not respect yourself either.
I can't imagine us dudes, role playing, pen and paper, in those good old days, not even one gay character let alone 2 gays and one trans gender that beamdog has made in there new BG releases.
It's natural to a CRPG and NPCs that you get some predefined options, and if those options don't interest you at all, don't choose them. "In those good old days" possibly refers to a time when gays had a much more difficult time and often even didn't tell their closest friends about their sexual orientation. Depending on what people you knew it was more likely for someone to play a silly gay elf for some jokes than actually being gay himself. For almost a year, though, a group I've played pen and paper rpgs with had a lesbian member with a focus on playing strong female lesbian warriors (which has been exactly the opposite of herself in real life).
Push my button once with Dorn and I'll laughable shrug it off, keep bushing my buttons and you'll make me feel like I'm at a gay club and want to just leave.
Giving Dorn a massage or wrestling with him half-naked, well, give it a try for role-playing reasons if it interests you and you don't fear what it may lead to. Else, avoid it or never choose that option again once you've experienced the content before. Try pulling Aerie's blanket away when she's sleeping, if you like something like that more. As a comparison, I've read about enough players, who cannot get accustomed to the romance with Viconia due to the background story she tells and her attitude towards males.
So who really is the gay one at Beamdog writing this crap, because it's getting to the point it's just not funny anymore and down right wierd !?
I won't go that far and call Dorn "crap". His bi stuff is not content I would applaud to. It's nothing spectacular that would be a reason to buy these games. It simply doesn't matter. "Shrug" and move on. If I let Dorn join, I do it for the NPC banter and NPC related quests. But I've found Glint worse than Dorn. Primarily because Glint is too foolish and not because he's gay. Compared with silly Glint, Dorn is much more subtle.
I really wish people like you would think twice about where you vent your spleen and to whom, because if the devs put that content in the game in the first place, then clearly they don't share your mindset on what's moral, or your particular interpretation of that musty old book (you know, the one that also says "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone").
And yet here you are, complaining about your problems with gay characters. You believe your God's against it, that's fine, you do you. But this forum isn't a pulpit and we're not Westboro Baptist Church, so I don't know exactly what you thought you were going to accomplish. Are you arrogant enough to think the devs were going to read your homophobic screed and be like "Yes! We've seen the light! We repent! We must purge these characters we created from the game!"?
Your rhetoric is old, it's tired, we've literally heard all this before and you know what Beamdog did in response? They added more gay characters in SoD. They hired David freaking Gaider himself, who has created some of the most popular LGBT characters in RPG history and probably isn't going to stop any time soon.
Clearly you and your views aren't going to find any purchase with the people making these particular games. Find somewhere else to be and something else to play.
