Here is Part 2 of the list of licensed Forgotten Realms novels, comic books, video games and tabletop games that have a confirmed time frame, and where they fit in the continuity of the Forgotten Realms. Last time I began way back in the beginning, at -30000 DR to 1368 DR. Now, I am going to start from 1369 DR and end somewhere in the 1400's.

"Heroes of Baldur's Gate" 5e tabletop adventure game (By James Ohlen and Jesse Sky) (1369 DR) To make this unofficial adventure part of the chronology, I like to assume that this story takes place in the unspecified amount of days Gorion's Ward was in jail for a murder he/she didn't really commit.

Salvatore) (begins in 1369 DR) Fun fact: In the first Baldur's Gate game, if Gorion's Ward meets Drizzt and no hostilities are made (I'm talking about all of you who decided to attack him to steal his scimitars!), he tells Gorion's Ward that he is on his way to Icewind Dale. In this novel, Drizzt's opening monologue expresses how happy he is to be back in Icewind Dale, neatly tying in his brief appearance in the Baldur's Gate game.

"Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn" the game and novel (The game was originally developed by BioWare, the Enhanced Edition version is developed by Overhaul Games of Beamdog, playable on PC, Android and with BG:EE in the console releases) (Novel version written by Philip Athans) (game version begins in Mirtul 1369 DR) In the game version, Drizzt and his companions appear in the game during Chapter 6, which is problematic in regards to canonical events because in 1369 DR, they are still going through the "Sea of Swords" novel's story by the time SoA starts. They are far north beyond Neverwinter, so they are nowhere near Amn in any month in 1369 DR. The only way Drizzt and his companions come to Amn and meet Gorion's Ward is if the final half of SoA and all of ToB all takes place in 1370 DR, after Sea of Swords ends and before The Hunter's Blades Trilogy begins since SoA begins on Mirtul of 1369 DR, and there are tons of side quests to kill time on until the year ends and locations like Athkatla and Trademeet are further apart than the game depicts, so it is possible. Plus, if you talk to one of the town criers in Athkatla, they mention exiled Amnian families coming back to Amn in the Year of the Tankard (1370 DR) (Book 2 of the Lands of Intrigue sourcebook states this event happens in the first month of 1370) even if the journal that keeps up with your progress on side quests and the main quests is still in 1369 DR, which means the Shadows of Amn storyline is supposed to extend to 1370 DR, rather than SoA and ToB being crammed in 1369 DR, which is impossible.

Confusing, isn't it? Why is the novel version set in 1368 DR? I'll explain, because I've read it. The prologue of the ToB novel is set in 1368 DR, but after the prologue ends, the author somehow forgot to make it clear that the rest of the story takes place in the "present day", therefore the continuity of the novel version Baldur's Gate series is seriously thrown out of order, Throne of Bhaal is before Shadows of Amn even though it should be the other way around, because Jaheira gets killed off by Abazigal, and Imoen gets killed off by Sendai, and in SoA, Jaheira and Imoen are alive, except for Jaheira, she had been recently revived from getting killed by Sarevok towards the end of the BG1 novel.

Rannek, one of the main characters in this game, was briefly mentioned in "The Two Swords" as a member of the Riders of Nesmé, and the city Nesmé was overrun by an army of trolls in 1370 DR during the book's story, and Rannek was the only survivor of the Riders of Nesmé. In this game during the stand at Mithral Hall with Zhai, Illius, Thibbledorf and Drizzt against the troll army, Rannek found the chance to avenge Nesmé and his fallen friends who was members of the Riders of Nesmé by slaying the troll king.

    Nice! I've long maintained a spreadsheet with the timelines and other info on every single FR novel (but not anything else). The only one for which I don't have a sure timeline date is "Neversfall" (Citadels book 1), and I don't see it here either. My guess has always been 1374 DR but I'd love confirmation so my list will be complete!

    @kanisatha Neversfall is one of those books that don't have a confirmed timeline. I could make an educated guess, but I can't yet, because I know nothing about its story, sorry!

    Wierd. Was there ever a reason given for why?

    As far as I can tell, no reason I could describe. On FR Wiki, there is a decent list of FR novels with unknown timelines.

    @kanisatha I put some thought into it, and I think that Neversfall is somewhere between -600 DR and -246 DR. I haven't seen any evidence to prove it, it is just a random hunch.

    Wow. You feel it is set that far in the past? A very interesting hypothesis, @BladeDancer. I don't want to go re-read the book, but it would be interesting to see if there are any references to specific things, events or people in the book that could help nail down at least a timeline range even if not a specific year.

    I think so. I haven't read the book yet or bought the audiobook of it yet, so it's just a temporary hypothesis. I tried studying the summary of the book but I can't find anything concrete that hints the time frame.

    I've added more tabletop games into the timeline after further research, like "Pool of Radiance: Attack on Myth Drannor", "Sons of Gruumsh", "Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave", "Fall of Frostsilver", "Shadowdale: The Scouring of the Land", and "Anauroch: The Empire of Shade", and I've written some interesting details about the novel "Sea of Swords", which connects it to the first Baldur's Gate game, and I've written something interesting about Shadows Of Amn. Whew!

    I've added the unofficial tabletop adventure "Heroes of Baldur's Gate" to the list even though WoTC had no involvement in the adventure's development.

    I've added the NWN premium modules: "Pirates of the Sword Coast" and "Wyvern Crown of Cormyr" to the list since I just recently purchased those modules over Beamdog.
