"Cast instantly"

Does that mean at the speed of 0 but in due course, or does it mean straight away, even if the round isn't finished?

    It happens immediately.

That question has resolved itself, but what I would like to know now is how to use the Increase Spells Cast Per Round opcode. From what I understand, it lets the character fire spell after spell so long as it is in effect, there are no variables here. I use it for 3 seconds after special abilities that I don't want to take up any of the characters' time, so they can get on with their regular actions without losing the round. Are there other interesting uses for this opcode?

It'll let you cast any spell or use any special ability, including shapeshifting, without any delay, but bear in mind that it doesn't completely free up your options. It will not speed up your ability to use special items, drink potions, or use scrolls.

Or attack, yes. I wish it was a more general form of Alacrity.
