The ultra-cheesy adventures of an evil puppet master

Yesterday I rolled a 106 (thanks to auto-roller) on a chaotic evil sorcerer and decided to start a new vanilla (long-time) playthrough (BG1 + SoD + BG2)...
I will try to make this playthrough as interesting as possible. There are a lot of exploits and dirty tricks which can be used to cause absurd and interesting events. So it shouldn't be difficult to create an exciting journey.
One of the most important exploits is related to the level 1 charm spell (it can be abused to send NPCs to other areas (charmed creatures follow you to other areas if they attack one of your party members)). So I am going to make extensive use of it.
So we give up (for now) and decide to talk to Tethtoril about Firebead's identify scroll. Somehow our char managed to finish this and all other quests in Candlekeep without killing anyone for their impertinent requests (except two cats in the storehouse). Back in the Inn we think about the chest problem. What would need to happen to crack the 3 locks? Yxunomei would need to become much stronger or get an appropriate spell. There is no way to increase the strength of a level 1 sorcerer in Candlekeep but one bloody path to the knock spell. All we have to do is to wipe out Candlekeep.
Unfortunately, there are a few invincible NPCs (Tethtoril and the guard outside of the walls who is not reachable anyway) and NPCs that we need to continue our journey (Gorion). Furthermore we intend to complete all quests (or at least as many as possible). So killing Firebead is not an option.
Winthrop and the Priest of Oghma are useful to sell the armors of the guards and to increase our reputation, respectively. Yxunomei have to keep them alive till the end of the killing spree. So she casts charm spells on Winthrop and lures him to the bunkhouse where he is in a safe place. After using our last spell on the hostile innkeeper, we can talk to him to make a rest and regenerate completely. We repeat the same procedure to the Priest of Oghma and let him return to the Priest's Quarters. Now, everything is prepared for our 'project'.
We start the massacre with Phlydia. She is a decent opponent but can nether resist Yxunomei's charm nor her own stinking cloud. She is lying unconscious on the floor as one of our bullets kills her.
6000 xp and 50 dead people later, char has reached level 3. We camp in the castle courtyard to decoy more guards. Our sling demands 23 more victims before we reach level 4 and the knock spell.
Our char returns to Candlekeep Inn. It takes a while to get rid of Firebead without slaughtering him. We use our 3 knock spells on all 3 chests. Yxunomei finds a potion of clarity and a star saphir.
Before we leave Candlekeep, we sell the stuff of Yxunomei's victims to Winthrop (32 plate mails and other stuff) but we keep Hull's sword as souvenier (every serial killer likes souveniers, right?). The plump innkeeper receives a bullet as reward for his services. Then we go to the priest to improve our bad reputation. For some reason he doesn't want to offer any services. Nevertheless he deserves the same reward as Winthrop. Our last victim in Candlekeep dies next to our first one (Shank the assassin).
It's time to leave this place... As we try to talk to Gorion, he grills us with a lightning bolt. He seems to be upset about our little cleaning action but thanks to power of the reload function and the charm spell we manage to calm him down.
Yxunomei leaves Candlekeep with to following result:

The character (Yxunomei, also called char):
Candlekeep (The Massacre):
After buying some basic equipment (a sling and a lot of bullets) from Winthrop, talking to Firebead about his missing identify scroll and looting the bookshelfs and cabinets on the first floor of Candlekeep Inn, we go up to the second floor and find 4 closed chests. The first chest burst open at the mere sight of our char's enormous arm muscles but no matter what we try, Yxunomei isn't able to open one of the other chests. We spend several minutes of clicking at these damned things with no success. So we give up (for now) and decide to talk to Tethtoril about Firebead's identify scroll. - Gold: +7690
- Reputation Change: -7
- Experience Gain: 10065 (level 4)

- Finished Quests: Firebead's Scroll, Phlydia's Book, An Errand for Fuller, Hull's Sword, Dreppin's Cow, Reevor's Storehouse
- Time: Day 2, Hour 20
- Comments: Imoen is still alive

Wilderness near Candlekeep (Bear Feeding):
Together with Gorion we travel eastwards until we get into an ambush (Uhh old man, did you ever heard about invisibility spells?). Just before we can send a bullet to Gorion, an armored figure cuts him down. Sadly, this impudent frag thief disappears into the darkness before we have the chance to punish him.We spend the remaining night hours in forest and gather Imoen, Montaron and Xzar the next morning. Yxunomei explores the map and meets some wolves and gibberlings. She ignores all NPCs (for now^^) except Kolssed who starts a conversation. We cast another charm spell on him while he tries to escape. If there is one thing in this world that Yxunomei hates (besides of locked chests), it is a runaway NPC. So we feed him to a hungry black bear.
Without bad conscience our party continues its journey and travels eastwards to the next map.
Result:
Wilderness, North of Beregost (The Cow Wizard):
An evil looking old men tries to raid our party. We instantly press the pause button and set Imoen's and Montaron's traps. Imoen and Yxunomei use their range weapons while Montaron attacks with a short sword.Although nobody hits him, the old guy gets hostile. Both traps trigger but don't cause enough damage to kill him. With an insane speed the old man summons a cow on Montaron, polymorphs him into a chicken and disappears into a black smoke cloud. WTF?
So we have to start a further attempt. We pause the game, set the traps and return to the previous area. After a rest, our thieves are ready to set more traps... Altogether, we prepare 6 'surprises'. That should be enough to defeat our enemy but it isn't. Yxunomei's party dares the next attack. The trap damage brings the old men close to death and a lucky sling shot finishes him off. We don't know why but our group gains 26000 xp for the death of this geezer.
During the further exploration of the map, Yxunomei kills every hostile creature (a few wolves, xvarts and bandits). We meet a guy (Aoln) who joins our party for a very short time (his life ends by the mace of an ogre).
Deeply shocked about this tragic loss, we decide to follow Gorion's suggestion and travel to the Friendly Arm Inn.
Result:
Friendly Arm Inn (My Friend Tarnesh):
Our low reputation starts to cause problems. So we have to raise it. We use Imoen's sneak skill to get to the Temple of Wisdom, where we increase our reputation to 8. (The Flaming Fist guys don't appear as long as no one notices our party). Our char returns a Flamedance Ring to Joia (+1 to rep.) but she isn't very grateful and tries to leave to area. The charm spell stops her escape and she dies by her own lightning bolt a few seconds later (no reputation loss^^). Yxunomei takes her Flamedance Ring as souvenier.
As we go upstairs to enter the Inn, we meet the bounty hunter Tarnesh. Just after a short conversation Yxunomei charms him and then Montaron takes all his possession. We bring him to Joia's house (save him for later usage) and leave him alone (since there is no reason to kill him anyway).
On the first floor of the Inn we talk to Dorn and pick Jaheira and Khalid up. Upstairs we find the femal dwarf Unshey who steals the belt (Elves' Bane) of our main characters. Now we have to find a way to get it back without lowering our reputation. Unfortunately, this belt isn't an item which can be stolen. The dwarf has to die! The easiest way to do that is to attack Unshey and to lure her to a group of hobgoblins. So Yxunomei takes her to the north of the map and uses the almighty charm spell. Shortly afterwards, two hobgoblins kill the charmed Unshey...
We return to the Inn and finish the Golden Pantaloons quest, just to face the same problem we had before. The Golden Pantaloons cannot be stolen and there is no hobgoblin left but we have Tarnesh...
Our party continues its journey after a short rest. It's time to travel to Beregost and to find a headquater.
Result:
Btw. I discovered a serious issue in my savegame. Hopefully, I can find a workaround.
Edit:
The extinction of the inhabitants of Candlekeep wasn't that clever as I thought. The Keeper of the Portal is now hostile and can't be charmed because his magic restistance is 100 %. So we are not going to enter Candlekeep in the usual way but that's a later problem. Fortunately, there is a nice exploit...
You can lower his magic resistance with the 5th level divine spell (available to druids in BG1 under the level cap and also to clerics if the level cap is removed).
You can get inside Candlekeep with Ctrl J (if the console is enabled).
Beregost and Surroundings (The Headquater):
We arrive in Beregost during daytime hours. So the Thunderhammer Smithy is open and we can upgrade Yxunomei's sling (to a sling + 1) and buy some magic bullets + 1 for it.Our next stop is Feldepost's Inn. We talk to Marl about his son's death and lift Algeron's cloak, one of the most important items for our char (there is one main advantage (beside the higher duration) of the cloak over the level 1 charm spell: The charmed creatures don't get hostile when the spell effect expires).
As usual we explore the whole map, do some quests and take the local assassin (Karlat) to a save, empty house. After killing two vampiric wolves in the temple area, Yxunomei reaches level 5 and learns melf's acid arrow.
Since our main char is a wacko rat pack and perfectionist, we need a place to store our items and catched
PokemonsNPCs. There is a perfect house in the north of Beregost, the Travenhurst Manor. Unfortunately, we are not able to lead NPCs inside the building. They won't go through the door (it's probably a small bug). So the party has to settle for a humbler headquater. In the heart of the town, our heroes occupy an apparently empty house. We use Algeron's clock to hire two servants for our new base: Thanks to the bartender of the Feldepost's Inn, we have the possibility to rest in our headquater and don't have to go to an inn anymore. The blacksmith Taerom Fuiruim allows us to identify magic items.
(Red Note)
Imoen leaves our group and takes care of our home during our absence. In addition we collect Garrick and Kagain, finish their quests and send them to her. We ignore Neera for the moment (but not forever because she is a walking cheese factory and therefore pretty useful) and leave Beregost.
Result:
Wilderness, East of Beregost Temple (Korax):
Korax the Ghoul joins our party and does a decent job as living meat shield. We manage to slaughter Mutamin and his basilisks just before Korax becomes hostile.Yxunomei frees the petrified Tamah (+1 reputation). After that, this ingrate women tries to flee without our permission (they never learn). With a little help of a Basilisk in the south of the map, we restore the old state. So she has a lot of time to think about her misconduct.
After taking down the remaining Basilisks and a group of cheeky adventurers, Yxunomei's party travels to Larswood.
Result:
Larswood (Baeloth):
Nothing really interessting happens here. Baeloth joins our part. We take his robe of evil archmagi, clear the area and travel back to Beregost. Back in our headquater, we try to get rid of Baeloth. Char wants him in her headquater but not in the group. As soon as we remove him from our party, he starts a dialog insisting that he will wait for us at the Friendly Arm Inn. Luckily, this dialog can be avoided by pausing the game and instantly leaving the area. It's time to go to Nashkel since Yxunomei's party wants her there. Moreover they have started to kill each other, which cost me several reloads.
Result:
There are very interesting opprtunities in Baldur's Gate (City). So it's probably the best to rush through the next 2 or 3 chapters.
Btw. Does anyone know how to 'conjure' Biff the Understudy (without console)? I tried several things (e.g. I removed Sarevok in the Duke's Palace and started the dialog of the nobles) but nothing worked.
Nashkel (Naughty Oopah):
Yxunomei visited Nashkel and had some fun with The Amazing Oopah. Once freed, he took the life of a wizard (his master's life), a commoner and that of Lord Binky. However, a charmed chicken pecked him to death (with a little bit preparatory work of the main char, to be honest). Our party finished all standard quests in Nashkel and met Dorn at the way to the mines. After we had killed Greywolf, we charmed Prism, prevented him from suicide and took him to the warehouse in the north of the map. He is so grateful now that he is willing to give us a reward of 1000 xp and +1 reputation every 8 hours (we have to rest and to charm him to receive the quest reward as often as we want ). Unfortunately, Yxunomei's party mainly consisted of evil guys that don't like a too high reputation. So we didn't make use of his offer so far.
As we entered the mine of nashkel, we realized that our thief wasn't able to disarm any traps. So we had to use our bomb disposal unit Dorn.
We let Khalid and Jaheira in Nashkel.
Yxunomei failed to take Mulahey to the surface (which was her goal). He was somehow bugged and didn't give up. We had no choice and killed him. The party returned afterwards to the Major of Nashkel, Berrun Ghastkill. Char collected the reward and charmed him. That convinced him to stay in the world of Baldur's Gate. He is as grateful as Prism. So we can receive the reward ever 8 hours.
Yxunomei met Nimbul on the road through Nashkel. She was gracious enough to charm him and to take him to one of the back-rooms of the Nashkel Inn (together with Neira).
Back in Beregost (Full House):
The party did further quests (we found a usage for our assassin, since Zhurlong refused to give us his boots) and started to gather all available companions (+Tarnish and Firebead (it's always good to have some mages around )). Baeloth returned to the Friendly Arm Inn. Probably our scroll collection wasn't interesting enough for him. So he got a really exciting (unidentified) scroll to read.We rescued Dynaheir without killing a single Gnoll and punished a xp thief of the Flamming Fist (he stole our party two dread wolf kills) during Dorn's quest. We gave him what he wanted, namely, more monsters to kill.
Furthermore, the confused old cow wizard returned. He claimed to be Elminster (ridiculous). So we had to explain to him that we are not ready to "indulge an old man".
Thanks to 'Eliminster', Yxunomei reached level 6 (she learned skull trap) and is ready for chapter 4.
Result:
The way Yxunomei kneads the game's dirt brings back memories of my past charname, the bitchy vampire Julia. She rocked through BG1&2&ToB in a similar fashion, but SoD didn't yet exist back then. Can't wait to see Yxunomei dig up more fun exploits and fool SoD's instant imprisonment police with some cheese sauce.
It was much easier to set up the traps because Elminster waited in front of the Thunderhammer Smithy and the party entered the area in the south near the jovial juggler.
@God
I hate this police. So hopefully, Yxunomei can find a way to punish these guys.
However, SoD is better protected against some exploits. 'bitchy vampire Julia' sounds like custom race or class?
That's the girl. Very bitchy, very vampire-y and voiced by Laura Bailey
Technically, she was a chaotic evil elf fighter/mage/thief using Bodhi's animations and equipped with a custom vampire-like claw attack. I also made her completely immune to all conventional affects other than simple damage, so I could easily recognize when the games use scripted instakill cheese as opposed to lethal spells allowing no save. I played on a heavily modded BGT though, so she had a slightly different array of glitches to use and didn't get to tease any of the EE and SoD NPCs with her tricks.
Bandit Camp (New Friend):
Raiken in Peldvale leaded us to the bandit camp where we invested a greater malison scroll and a charge of Algeron's Cloak to find a new friend, Tazok the half-ogre. Not just any half-orge but an immortal killer machine. He cleared the camp within a few minutes. As our party said good bye to Mr. Tazok, he was adamant that we should take the second pair of Gauntlets of Weapon Expertise which he had in his inventory.
On the way back to Beregost, we made a quick side trip to the Friendly Arm Inn where we converted the cow wizard to 26000 xp. Yxunomei leveled up to level 7 after that and learned Mirror Image and Dispel Magic.
We talked to Officer Vai in Beregost and she said us that she did not want to stay in the town anymore. So Yxunomei politly asked her for help on a small spider problem in Landrin's House before she could leave...
The following journey through the Cloakwood was pretty straight forward. Yxunomei joined up with every companion that she met and slaughtered the old grumpy mage Davaeorn.
Baldur's Gate (Francis):
An irresponsible mage set approximately 100 skull traps on the bridge to Baldur's Gate. After a conversation to Scar about the Seven Suns, the poor guy took the wrong way to go. Sadly, nobody resurrected him (So we were not able to find him in the headquater of the Flamming Fist and we had to reload. Yxunomei decided to finish the Seven Sun quest later). The enervating cow wizard tried to ambush Yxunomei at the entrance of the city but we let Quayle cast some invisibility spells to avoid him.
The party finished some quests and roamed through the city. They entered an old warehouse and found a poor, lonely creature. Yxunomei charmed him using Halbazzer's Nymph Cloak and named him Francis (got some inspiration by this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KqjOGdOMtA
(The Nymph Cloak is basically identical to Algeron's Cloak but has more charges and works on touch). Francis needed a new, better home. So the party evacuated all nobles and some guards from Entar Silvershield's Estate and started to tranfer all companions from the old base in Beregost to the new one. They hired new servants (inclusive Halbazzer Drin, a bartender and a priest) and prepared Francis' transport to the estate.
Charmed NPCs can't use the normal ways to travel to other districts so we had to use the sewers. When we entered the sewers, a horde of kobolds attacked us. Francis showed his amazing skills and petrified them all within 3 rounds.
Beside this event, the trip to our new base was unproblematic. Francis is a little bit too big for the door of the estate but we were prepared and used the wand of polymorphing to change him into a squirrel.
He moved into an appropriate room on the second floor.
It was time to make some statues. We petrified pretty much everybody who was involved in the Balduran Helm Quest and also the adventurers in the Helm and Cloak Inn got a new stylish stone skin. Our by far toughest victim was the cow wizard. We had to level-up Faldorn to get access to her 'Magic Resistance' spell:
Yxunomei faked the conversation. Faldorn was hasted and equipped with the boots of speed and the main char was encumbered. Faldorn ran to 'Elminster' and started to cast her spell upon him while Yxunomei was slowly walking torwards the old man. Just before the main char would reach 'Elminster' to start the dialog, Faldorn finished her spell and Dorn managed to charm him. We smuggled the old man through the sewers and Francis did his job.
Loving the statue museum, too.
Sometimes my Linux version of Baldur's Gate resets itself to German.
Baldur's Gate (Twins):
Yxunomei finished more subquests and added more inhabitants (basically every unique, quest-related NPC she met) to her statue collection before she completed Scar's quests (seven suns and ogre mage in the sewers). After that, she charmed Scar, went to the second floor of the Flamming Fist Castle and met the Eltan twins.
Sadly, both dukes were immortal and immune to petrification but at least Alora could steal two Books for the Keeper of the Portal in Candlekeep. In addition we discovered another Scar for Francis in front of the Flamming Fist Castle.
The investigation of the Iron Throne proceeded 'normally'. All bad boys were pretty helpless against Yxunomei's charm...
Candlekeep:
Back in Candlekeep, we found a hostile portal keeper and several aggressive guards in the inner yard. Faldorn had to lower the magic resistance of the keeper to make him susceptible to charm spells. Yxunomei charmed all of them but was a little bit tired of killing such easy targets. So our party entered the library and killed Koveras, Tethtoril, Ulraunt and all Iron Throne guys. However, this was almost completely pointless. Someone revived everyone except the Iron Throne members (or they are just doppelgangers ). The resurrected Tethtoril teleported us to the secret library, where we found two greater basilisk. Main char took one of them to the surface (it's a preparation for the next visit).
Baldur's Gate (Sarevok):
We met Tamoko in front of the Sorcerous Sundries and brought her to the kitchen of the Elfsong Tavern. Something strange happened then. Yxunomei returned to Sorcerous Sundries and found a second Tamoko. We repeated the process till we had 5 of these clones. The party visited the Blushing Mermaid and stole the invitation for the Ducal Palace from Slythe and Krystin. We defeated Sarevok and chased him down in the undercity. We charmed him using Algeron's Cloak and took him to the surface (it's possible to leave Bhaals Temple if you avoid the dialog with Sarevok).
Sarevok can't be petrified (would kill him). So we had to find another solution. Yxunomei used the 5 Tamokos the build a small jail cell on the first floor of the headquater.
Final art gallery:
Prison Cell that doesn't work (because the commoners may disappear):
psychopathindividual and the playthrough was fun and all but she still wasn't perfect enough from a powergamer's perspective. I mean she should have been an elf instead of adirty littlehalf-elf ( this little detail bugged me all the time ).The playthrough was too rushed, so I haven't had time to test all my ideas or to make videos from the highlights of her journey. Ohh and we got a new patch a few days ago.
Briefly, there are good reasons to let her die. Or maybe she doesn't need to die.... Idea: The story told in this thread never really happened. Yxunomei was just experiencing a horrible nightmare. She dreamed she was a disgusting half-elf (of course the term 'disgusting' is redundant; all of them are nauseating beings in her eyes). Anyway, when she awakes, she will find herself laying in front of Winthrop's tavern...
I need some time to generate a decent roll (106 or higher). That shouldn't take too long using multiple instances of an auto-roller in parallel (current value: 103 after ~20 minutes of autorolling).
I think 103+ should be more than enough for the revival of Yxunomei
Anyway, I will try to start next week. I just need to find a decent elf portrait.
@Gotural
I think this number is not correct. My chances are significantly better (hopefully). ^^ I've consulted the forums and my math skills.
