SoD crashes on Mac as soon as game starts

I've finally got round to buying SoD and have tried playing a couple of times. Character creation works fine but as soon as the game starts (as soon as I try to move my party or even export my character) the game crashes. I'm using a MacOS Sierra 10.12.6
