Yes. Runs perfectly on Windows 10 both through Steam and through the Beamdog Client (I don 't own the games on GoG but I guess it als works there)

ok thanks so I guess the crash dump file I'm seeing is related to video or sound as I'm on a laptop with intel video chip on dell inspirion 1750?

Your graphics chipset only has a generic Windows 10 driver available. Please download the baldur.lua (bgee directx) file from https://support.baldursgate.com/issues/31615 & extract it to your documents/baldur's gate - enhanced edition folder.

For confirmation wrt @Doubledimas - GOG vesions work with no probs as well.

ok did that and extracted to bg folder in docs. Still get the medium sized white screen and immediately a crash dump red x and dump message. Am I to leave the file in the docs folder?

Could you try the file at https://support.baldursgate.com/issues/24866 instead as the reporter there confirmed it resolved his issue. If you still have no luck there may be variants in the chipset or you may have more than one issue, in which case some of the steps at https://beamdog.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/206729933-Windows-My-Game-Won-t-Launch-Or-Is-Crashing-On-Launch may help.

At one point I had to install the directx9 web install in order to get the game working on Windows 10. Even though the game was installed via steam. Old computer.
