Cutscene of Bhaal's Death: How did Bhaal lose an arm?

During the crossing at Boareskyr Bridge, CHARNAME blacks out and has a vision of Bhaal being murdered by the Mad God Cyric.

I have always wondered how Bhaal look like and when I saw the illustration of Bhaal in the cutscene, well, I was quite disappointed tbh. And I have many questions too: the first one being:

1. How come he lost an arm? Lost to whom or what?
2. What is Bhaal's preferred weapon of choice? Or does he fight with claws/talons in one of his avatar's form?

1. Cyric was not alone in the battle against Bhaal, there were at least Adon and Midnight (the later incarnation of Mystra). They had already defeated Bhaal but could not kill him and he most likely was already heavily wounded - like having lost an arm. Only Cyric's sword Godsbane, which was an avatar of Mask, could kill Bhaal. This final blow is what we see in the SoD movie.
2. Bhaal's preferred weapon was the dagger. His combat style was assassination.

@PaulaMigrate Thank you. And in the cutscene, is that one of Bhaal's avatar forms? I read that he has three: "a shape-shifting one called Kazgoroth, a human-sized one called the Slayer, and a giant called the Ravager" It can't be the Slayer or Ravager, so I guess that must be Kazgoroth?

When I was in school if you annoyed my gym teacher (something that was surprisingly easy to do) he would threaten to "rip your arm off and beat you to death with the soggy end". Maybe that's what Cyric did to Bhaal?

Bhaal once was mortal before he received part of old god Jergal's portfolio along with Myrkul and Bane. That story can be found in the book you receive from Firebead in Beregost if you do his job. "The story of the Dead Three".
a shape-shifting one called Kazgorothmeans he can appear as anything but I guess that he's so near to death that we see his original mortal human form.
