    @sarevok57 maybe instead of getting rid of all the spells, reduce the amount of some of them (like detect/protect evil, remove fear) and reduced healing capability? I think in most multiplayer party setups you'll typically only have one paladin, so I wouldn't get rid of all the special abilities maybe just tone them down a bit. I can't really speak for everyone though but in a game I have going with friends right now we try to have atleast one of every class and generally don't take NPC's that are classes we already have unless we have extra room. I agree that being able to equip unusable missile ammo is something that should be fixed just for the sake of being fixed.

    For reference here is my Level 10 Cavalier and his current special abilities (BG2)

    I think just reducing the amount you receive of all of them per level would suffice, you get quite alot for already being legit. I wouldn't get too crazy with it though, as paladins are generally the party-buffing class.

    well he should keep his remove fear ability because that is only available to cavaliers ( no other paladin gets that ability) and he should keep his detect evil and protection from evil because he is built to destroy the strongest of evil creatures, one thing for sure they should get rid of is turn undead, if he is specifically built to destroy these classic monsters, why do they still have that ability? and when i say spells, im talking about his priest spells, not his special abilities, the cure light wounds, slow posion and draw upon holy might, are all chapter related bhaal spawn powers, and those can stay since they are part of the story, but he needs some big draw backs getting rid of turn undead, priest spells, lay on hands, i say that would be fair, since they really dont have much to do with his class, and for party buffing spells, the cleric hands down does a far better job of it than a paladin would, even a paladin at level 20 gets 4 level 1,2,3,4 spells, but they all cast at caster level 10 and no bonus spells based on wisdom

    @sarevok57
    I may be wrong but in 2E Paladins (and Rangers) only got level 1-3 spells and could only memorize 3 spells per spell level.

    Though maybe this was specific for Rangers.

    EDIT: Yeah I was wrong, Paladins can get level 4 spells
