Text Errors for Companion Mods

After the 2.5 or whatever update I found that the text for all my companion mods had gone screwy. I use the mac steam version and I deleted and reinstalled all my Baldur's Gate 1 files and downloaded and installed the mods using the install, while also (I think) running Modmerge since I have Siege of Dragonspear.

Anyone else having any problems like this?

Looks like you didn’t run modmerge.

That’s weird because I downloaded mod merge and ran chmox+x or something along those lines. How do you usually run mod merge?

@jankmaster Instead of modmerge use "DLC Merger" https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/71305/mod-dlc-merger-merge-steam-gog-sod-dlc-or-custom-dlcs-with-the-main-game

Did you start a new game? I don't think you can continue an old modded save. The patch added new text lines so all mod contents in old saves point to the wrong string ref numbers.

The chmod command does not run a program. It merely sets the file permissions. The command 'chmod +x modmerge-osx' would make the modmerge binary executable. You would still need to run the modmerge-osx program itself.

Or, as ALIEN suggested, use DLC Merger. Either way, you will need to start from a fresh install.
