The game really enjoys playing Whack a Mole with my party
Everyone Hates Bassilus: Gavin Edition
Drinking Game: Take a Shot every time Dorn dies
The battle with Dorn's old party gets caught up in an almost game-ending lightning storm. It's kinda funny that the weather is one of my greatest enemies
Awesome! That's never worked before!
It felt very good to wipe the floor with Mulahey after having so much trouble before.
An interesting conversation with one of Gavin's friends
Another example of Ogre Mages dumbing themselves into a stupid
Multiple times in this particular run I seem to have the problem of dead party members and not enough gold to raise them.
Bandit Camp successfully infiltrated, after running around like a chicken with its head cut off to obtain gold
For the time ever I made the mistake of bolting into this room without buffing first. Nevertheless, I emerged victorious
Viconia departs due to my reputation...oops
Is this Missing Citizens Mod Quest High-Level? I gave Imoen a Pick Lock Skill of 90 and she still can't open this door
And no Potions of Master Thievery at High Hedge either; guess I've got to wait until Chapter 5 to make another attempt at this particular side quest.
How does this trap ALWAYS fool me?
Welcome to the party Faldorn...although it seems you're going to be a glass cannon at best.
Faldorn helps provide a (somewhat) pleasant experience with the Shadow Archdruid
I hate Black Talon Elites
I *Really* hate Black Talon Elites
Have I mentioned how much I hate Black Talon Elites?
You can't see my face but it's the face of a man who wants to rage quit *Sigh* Time for another round of scavenging to raise my party members. Mayhaps adding Faldorn wasn't such a great plan after all.
My keyboard glitched and I wasn't able to get a screenshot, but I was killed returning to the Cloakwood Mines alongside Kivan. At this point my board is basically a cemetery.
Can somebody make a meme of that?
Attempt #38: Zaram the Invoker
Three mages in a row? I'm not liking my odds but perhaps making this particular mage a Variant of Zaram will make my run successful? *Fingers crossed*
After wrapping up a Trilogy run and having a mod crisis, I finally came back to my No Reload Days
Attempt #39: Lyra the Illusionist
Attempting to give Tarnesh a taste of his own medicine
It didn't take
Attempt #40: Wronath the Shapeshifter
Join me as I continue my hopeless travels now with a fresh new title. The thead formerly known as "Zaram Maldovar's Ill-Fated No Reload Journey" shall henceforth be known as Darth.....Vader.
Lol just kidding it's gonna be called "Zaram Maldovar's Poorly Played No-Reload Cemetery"
Ah yes, that monk meeting the bandit ambush. There's a reason I always gather some levels before I gather a party.
The transition from the crossroads to the Friendly Arm is a 5% chance of an ambush, and you only get the ten bandits if you leave in the late afternoon (4 PM to 8 PM; you get it if the time is between 8 PM and midnight when you arrive at the ambush zone)
Assuming you didn't go anywhere off the direct path to the Friendly Arm ... start in the Lion's Way at 7 AM. 8 hours transit to the east. Add somewhere between one and five hours on those two maps, and you're in the danger zone.
How to avoid that ambush chance? Just go south to Beregost first, before you go for the Friendly Arm. No chance of an ambush on that transit. Gorion gave you bad advice.
Alternately, spend longer on those two maps, and move past the danger zone. If you arrive at the ambush zone between midnight and dawn, all you have to worry about are kobolds (three melee), hobgoblins (four melee, one archer), or wolves (two).
Lost my old portrait collection but back at it again. After a little tweaking of the UI scaling, I felt comfortable playing
You know? 2 isn't a bad AC considering my Dex is lower than what I'm usually comfortable with
Paladin or not, I'm robbing this place blind
Let the early game recruitment of cannon fodder begin!
One quick stop to grab the Pantaloons and then it's quest time!
I love this little slime discussion between our resident psychopaths
Ok so this was a frustrating glitch I ran across but I rebooted my game and everything was fine. I think I was laying something too hard on my keyboard or something.
Not this run, Neera. I promise you'll get your chance when I do my next normal run.
Don't drop the Pantaloons you imbecile!
Much better
Khalid is forced to kill his own wife. At least it wasn't a peasant. I really don't need a Fallen Paladin in a NRL run
Zork chooses not to get Chesley'd
Now *that* is what I'm talking about!
Attempt #42: Otherwise known as Imoen doesn't know how to use a bow properly
Seriously?
*Facepalms*
I really am rusty I almost got TPK'd by a couple of Worgs lol. To be fair my party is still pretty underleveled.
Any it feels amazing to be back! Hooray *Party Music*
Btw, have you thought about reposting on the larger no reload thread? It is really rocking the last few weeks as a few of the long-term veterans have returned.
@Aerakar However I might chose to move this thread to the Tavern RPG at some point in the future.
Marvel as Khalid levels up via exploding ogre!
The party has a rough time mocking the "great" Zordal
Just 5 people standing in a circle hitting each other with sticks and constantly missing
After nearly getting 2 shotted by Greywolf, Khalid avenges my pride by pulverizing that putrid pukestain into paste
Isra has a bad time in the Mines of Nashkel
I thought for sure I was going to die here
This well timed Hobgoblin Ambush we barely survived afforded us the helmet Isra needed (too bad she kept dying in the mines anyway)
Anyway so after hauling Isra back to the temple *again* we made mince meat out of Mulahey and then proceeded to do the name to Nimbul. Now let's hope Chapter 3 goes just as well as Chapter 2 did (and by that I mean better cause I've had a lot of close calls)
I lost half my party but I managed to escape from this ghast and hobble back to Beregost where I healed up, turned in a few quests and decided to call it a night. It's been a long one both in game and at work but Ill manage. I look forward to posting more tomorrow and hopefully I'll play better tomorrow too. Lot of resurrections the last couple days lol.
My rep takes a hit defending Samuel but it's what a Paladin would do. Fight for what's right even if the law doesn't agree.
Gained back 1 Rep Point. It's going to be a long climb back up to 20
Switched Jaheria and Isra's armor in hopes that Isra will die less
All I see is Flinds, Flinds, Flinds *grumbles*
Dynaheir tries to run in fists blazing after running out of bullets
Khalid dies right after I was verbally mocking the Black Talon Elites for not being able to hit Zork
Dynaheir dies from a Cave Bear who absolutely refused to stop chasing her
No discount for returning customers? Shame on you
Whole lot of nope right there
I should get a trophy for the amount of times I've had to ressurect my party members this run I swear to Ao
Anyways after this I level grinded in Mutamin's Garden, Khalid got pertrified so I had to go back and get a scroll then both Khalid and Isra died fighting Mutamin and I had to go back again but now almost everyone is Level 5 heading towards Cloakwood so I think I'm set for Chapter 4.
Oops I accidentally sided with the druids and lost both the Doppleganger Quest and Jaheria's sidequest
Spider Hell, Spider Hell, does whatever a nope nope nope
I don't think I've ever managed to clear this map without triggering at least one of these damn web traps
I forgot for a second that fleeing is the not always the greatest idea in the world
An absolutely life saving Horror Spell
Which could have very easily been for naught when I keep running into *THESE DAMN WEBTRAPS*
Dynaheir dies giving us the perfect opportunity to return to Beregost for supplies
*Sigh*
Tiber: What's that ur carrying
Zork: Oh just one of my companions who died don't worry about it
Tiber: But there's 2 bodies
Zork: Sorry 2 companions
Tiber: Fair enough
Tiber: ......
Zork: ......
Tiber: You know that companion of yours looks an awful lot like my brother...and a little past the expiration date for ressurection
Zork: (Whistles)
In hindsight it was a terrible idea to approach this map without any form of antidotes
When heading to Beregost and High Hedge (Again) we ressurected Khalid only for Jaheria to be slaughtered by this small army of Black Bears we encountered.
Keldath: Weren't you just here a few hours ago?
Zork: ....Maybe
Keldath: Perhaps you should look for another profession
Zork: Perhaps you should mind your business
Keldath: *Ponders calling NPCPS on Zork*
A very well timed Insect Plague from the Shadow Archdruid very nearly causes a TPK
I didn't really think that one through
After everything that could've gone wrong in the opening act of this fight did in fact go wrong; this went surprisingly well. I keep accidentally tripping into victory this run.
I swear if this is *the* run and I'm dying this much so early I'm going to laugh my ass off.
Would anyone care to explain why there are even Ghasts inside the Cloakwood Mines?
That's...not good
I'm not sure how I survived this
Two Horrors working back to back really came through in a clutch
Oh my Gods! They killed Isra! You Bastards!
The first time I ever made it from the Cloakwood Mines to the Friendly Arm Inn without getting waylaid once. I usually get waylaid twice
Our party failed every spell check against every Chaos spell that the Cloakwood Mines had to offer
Who had Khalid gets killed by an Ankheg on their Bingo sheet?
That's an understatement
Attempting to turn in the Silvershield Quest did not go as planned
Just casually trying to ignore the Guard as we retrieve the Helm of Balduran
I gave up on trying to run and decided my reputation was high enough that I could afford to kill one measly guard...I was wrong
Oh how the mighty do fall...and it only gets worse from here
With our reputation rather low, Jaheria's Harper friend attacks us instead of greeting us
Killing him pushed our reputation down to 5 after which Isra ragequit the party and took the Helm of Balduran, Boots of Speed and Spider's Bane with her.
Hehehe...umm....at least I don't have to worry about constantly ressurecting her anymore?
The fact that Zork has already fallen from killing two innocents and then decides to massacre the Umberlee Temple (even though you get no penalty for that) makes it seem as if Zork has just completely snapped. I can't really say that I blame him after all of this.
Welcome Aboard, Yeslick!
And it's hear that Zork has reached his lowest point: Shunned by his god, hated by the very people he sought to defend, abandoned by one of his most trusted companions, and now whilst seeking redemption he watches as his entire party is slain by Ghasts and must carry all of them to the temple in hopes they can be ressurected.
He has lost everything, he has failed everyone. What does a man have left? Can he find redemption or we will he continue to fall deeper in the depths of darkness.
"When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change"- Avatar Aang
I didn't really feel like this character had a story arc before but he certainly does now. Zork the Fallen, Zork the Broken. Now he must find a way to become Zork the Redeemed.
Comments
I'm beginning to since Deja Vu here and I don't like it...
Ok well that's a good sign
And that....isn't
Welp, that sounds about right.
Attempt #37: Zurtha the Abjurer
How! How do I keep getting mages!
*Clenches Fist* That's it...I'm going to get as far as I can out of spite for the Gods of Fate now. Bring it on!
Much appreciated. More updates on Attempt #37 soon.
Already a vast improvement over her predecessor
Leaving Xzar for dead #sorrynotsorry
Leaving Montaron for dead too #pawndiscarded
Silke kills a few commoners on her way out the door
Garrick has a bad habit of not staying alive
After the entire party was incapacitated, Zurtha finishes the battle with Zordal by tossing a dart through his throat.
Gavin's personal quest unveiled (it's just to fight Bassilus but it was nice anyway to have an in-story reason to uncover the quest)
Garrick, are you even *trying* to stay alive?
Oh....nice job Garrick
The dumbest Ogre Mage alive knocks himself out before he can hurt the party

It felt very good to wipe the floor with Mulahey after having so much trouble before.
Having Gavin as an NPC provides an interesting way to include Mutamin's Garden as a legitimate subquest rather than a random encounter.
Ajantis pays for mistakes (I restored him later)
Oof this was just *not* fair
Now that this particular nightmare is over....moving on!
An interesting conversation with one of Gavin's friends
Another example of Ogre Mages dumbing themselves into a stupid

Spoiler Alert: It Didn't
I'm going to take a break and do some normal runs for a little bit, but the No-Reload Cemetery will return in the near future.
My condolences. And I totally know the feeling of reaching a temple and noticing I can't afford Raise Dead...
Have fun with your break from no-reload (heretic! )
Thank you, I'm going to try. I'm playing a Blade rn and I'm quite enjoying it.

Lol just kidding it's gonna be called "Zaram Maldovar's Poorly Played No-Reload Cemetery"
There's something amusing about a Werewolf just chilling at the Candlekeep Inn
Someone got a lucky hit through my -5 AC
Attempt #41: Mhira the Monk
I don't have high hopes for this one. Monks are broken in BG2 but so incredibly squishy in BG1. *Sigh* Pray for me.
So satisfying to punch Carbos to death
Coming back to my game after 5 months and trying to figure out where I am
I guess it doesn't really matter now, does it?
Attempt #42: Zork the Paladin
Oh gaming gods and goddesses plz let this game go well
@semiticgoddess I call upon thee to bless this Paladin for he needs all the guidance he can get.

Gettem' Khalid
I literally *just* resurrected you
