I just realized today that my protagonist and Imoen have never been fatigued during my gameplay. Everyone else gets tired now end then, but Charname and Imoen just cannot get tired. Anyone else experienced this? Weird...
Well my protagonist has a constitution of 18, so the lack of fatigue might have something to do with that. But still, I find it odd that after many hours even days of traveling my protagonist and Imoen just cannot get fatigued.
Current behavior: I noticed some NPCs doesn´t fatigue. In my party, same three NPCs are complaining about fatigue, but others (mine, Ajantis, Imoen) won´t fatigue no matter how much time I walk. I tried walking back and forth from bottom right map to the map north of Friendly Arm Inn several times. Nothing.
Expected behavior: From what I remember, characters should be fatigued after 24 hours.
Also, I don´t want to create new thread so I post it here. When I was travelling to find out about their fatigue bug, I noticed that the travelling time from bottom right map to the map north of Friendly Arm Inn is 52 hours, but travelling back is only 44 hours.
I'm not sure the exact mechanic behind the amount of time a character can go before becoming fatigued, but I think it has something to do with the character's constitution.
Funny that you noticed the discrepancy in travel time. Perhaps it is uphill one way?
Even though those characters actually had larger constitution than those who were fatigued, I haven´t slept like 10 days, which is long enough I believe.
I also thought about the uphill travel time I checked the travel time between Carnival and the bottom map (where you are supposed to go uphill) and travel time there was same.
My Imoen finally got fatigued after a 40 - 50 hour walk. Charname did not, but his constitution is 18.
Apparently fatigue IS working, just not in the way I remember it in BG1. A rebalance of the fatigue rate may be in order, because the way it is now is just a bit ridiculous.
The same thing happens to me in BG2. I remember that my party had Monk/Minsc/Keldorn/Cernd/Aerie/Jan. Only the latter 3 would get tired (18+con on the monk). Whatever the reason for this it must be a part of the BG2 engine. (You have no idea how much this has been bugging me over all those years)
WHAT THE....!!!! Ok so my computer has a wicked sense of humor. I was about to test the constitution theory by turning Cernd into a werewolf so he had higher con. I load at abazigal's lair (outside) and he was already tired so I hit rest. An earth elemental wakes me up and I swear FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE I STARTED THAT PLAYTHROUGH EVERYONE GOT TIRED!!!! Now I am a bit miffed and don't know what to say.... Edit: Ok. Upon close examination of my game file it seems they were all tired to begin with. I will look into how this may have happened... Still miffed...
Aha! Now I remember! I had just done a certain quest.
Bronze Pantalets from Bondari, Nanoc, and Tim
It says on your console "Several days later..." during this quest. A heck of a lot of time must have passed. That is why my party was tired! OK! No longer miffed I will now test Cernd as above...
Well It is indeed a constitutional issue. Greater werewolf Cernd(25con) does not get tired like usual Cernd. I agree with Lennis though. I don't care how superhuman your constitution is, if you can go on a 64 hour march through mountains from Abazigal's lair to the Marching Mountans and don't get tired...
You are already a god! Who needs to kill Amylissan or whatever her name is?
Certain characters never seem to get fatigued. I have tested this by traveling back and forth across the world map for *days* and while certain characters (Xzar, Montaron, Garrick) regularly get fatigued, my main character, Jaheira, and Khalid do not. This was a recurring issue for me in my last playthrough as well, where it was my main character and edwin never getting tired while Dorn, Viconia, and (I think) Kagain seemingly had no issues.
Current Behavior: Fatigue does not seem to effect all NPCs Expected Behavior: All NPC's eventually suffer from fatigue
While you're travelling, upon arriving in a new area, do you immendiately travel to a new one? I've noticed that If I do nothing but fast travel, I can go a long time with no one getting fatigued, but if I've gone longer than 24 hours without resting and then actually walk around a map for a bit, my characters become fatigued in a couple minutes (usually staggered according to CON, as higher CON allows you to go longer without resting).

Weird...
Must be the bhaalspawn blood
Actually, my 16 Con pregen Abdel got fatigued after 1 day 20 hours walk.

I think this can be merged with http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/12771/some-npcs-simply-wont-get-tired
