You are a fan of having some unusual NPCs in your group? Here's an option you may be interested in: it's Bristlelick - the gnoll bruiser... and he's ready to join your group.
The mod adds an NPC - gnoll bruiser, a former bandit who worked for Garclax, a gnoll you may also encounter in the original game, during the investigation of the Bandit Camp. Bristlelick is a frontline warrior of neutral character. He enjoys battle, a fine meal, and seeks vengeance for killing his trusted companion, Bull-Tall.
The mod includes a series of timed talks and some scenery talks and a set of his personal items. To make him fit well into the concept, he also receives his very own kit.
The NPC may be joined near the rocky road on the Bandit Camp area (AR1900). In Siege of Dragonspear he may join the team near the first camp (BD1000).

What about Trials of the Luremaster or/and IWD-in-EET-when-it-arrives integration for this gnoll?
This could be my signature slogan. 100% agrrement
the iwd series takes place way before bg 1. so he would not be there anyways unless he used time travel.
~You've been north from the Gate? Near Waterdeep, where Bristle was born?~
If you want to know my opinion: I feel that it's really discouraging that here is a page-long discussion about if the NPC should appear in BG2, IWD and IWD-in-EET and no one played the mod for even 45 minutes to get the dialogue that would make all of it clear. Seriously, why do you ask about moving NPC to BG2 or IWD if you don't even know if you like the character? Who do you guess what's in the mod? The expectation you have about it don't really need to be true. And the waves of those questions about something that isn't there - not just here, but in most of my recent threads - makes me wonder if people still care what's in the mods because it looks like 20% of the posts actually relate to them, while 80% are about something else, about what someone imagines that's in there without even trying it. Does it make me want to write more mods? No. I actually feel quite opposite. It makes me feel bad and - guessing from comments from @AionZ and @jastey - I am not alone in this.
So please, if there is someone who wants to talk about the mod's content, what you like and/or dislike about it, about dialogues, unclear parts... be my guest. When I know the answer, I do reply.
If you never played the mod, never really installed the mod: be my guest. Install it. I made the mod for you and for many fans that want to give those games yet another run.
If you never played the mod and imagine what's inside: I encourage you to put those expectations to the test. Play the mod... but do not assume you know this project well enough to help the author to organize its possible continuation. Because when I was starting this mod, I already knew it's a BGEE-only character. There are people who come and go, do not stay with you for your whole life. And that's such character. During those adventures, he changed. PC changed. And such is the conclusion if you must know it right now.
I have nothing else to add on this topic.
(Although I do have to look an extra time every time I see his name, since both Lick and Tick seem perfectly reasonable as the end of a Gnoll's name).
One quick question: will any companions refuse to be in the same party as Bristlelick (e.g., Kivan or Ajantis)?
Thanks!
Cheers!
– Fix for sudden animation change bug upon game being imported to SoD
– Fix for a SoD spawn location point if Bristlelick was present in the party
– Fix for a weapon upgrade script in SoD
– Fix forone of Bristlelick's items’ description
– Added a missing journal script and entry
– Changed Bristlelick's alignment to true neutral to reflect his actual character
– Additional proofreading by GoForTheEyes
– Traification
One question: Bristle doesn't seem to speak with the other companions. Perhaps he will eventually? Not a big deal if he doesn't (he doesn't strike me as a chatty guy). But I thought I would check whether this supposed to be the case.
I'm glad you're having fun
Lava, the Weasel Mods page for Bristlelick also needs updating to indicate his new EET compat status.
To clarify, what alignment is Bristlelick? You mentioned 'neutral' but LN, TN, or CN? When you mention 'Bruiser,' is that a Fighter kit?
Merry Christmas, everyone! Thanks again Lava for the new, EET compatible versions of Walahnan and Bristlelick which I've wanted for months now!
